I've known him about 10 years I guess -- I don't see him much anymore if at all, but about 5 or 6 years ago we all would hang out. We knew each other through a mutual friend -- Jenny -- you may know her as well.
Really? Put in a good word for me. And don't tell them I'm on the bbs while at work. I actually work for Stewart Transaction Solutions, which was formerly known as Landata. Who do you know here?
Ummm... I don't want to do this thread again. Someone might be starting their new job as identity thief.

1.) Paperboy for the Lompoc Record , 1 year job sucked, paper boys make dick. 2.) K-mart, Front Door Attendant 3 months My buddy got me a job they were hiring anybody to help them close the store down. I sat/stood by the door 40 hours a week checking people's receipts, ended up being the last of the temp hires to leave. 3.) King's furniture, Furniture Deliveryman, 1 year and 6 months Probably the best job I'll ever have. Within a few months I was the full time driver. Basically an old time ma and pa furniture store with 6 employees. Place was only about half a mile from my house, 7 hours a day, worked around my class schedule, the work was mostly easy and we had an absolute MILF for a secretary (good god she was so hot, and her 20 year daughter wasn't too bad either). Highlight was getting a 100 dollar tip on a 5000 dollar order. I quit that job to move out here to Texas. 4.) Amtex corp, Receiver / Cycle Counter, 6 months My friend promised he could get me this job if I moved out to Texas, so I took him up on it. Man it turned out to be a stupid ass job, numerous labor laws being broken everywhere. Usual construction site stuff. I came in knowing nothing about construction material and within a few weeks I was doing a daily inventory of everything on the site as well as material handling. It was actually a pretty decent paying job and the work wasn't too bad. I just didn't like driving down to hick-ass Garland every damn day and dealing with all the scumbag people working there. I quit that job last month and now I'm doing product testing for dealtree.com. 3 13 hour shifts, so i only have to work thur-sat and get the rest of the week off.

How did I miss this thread? HS and college: bass player for three different bands... spent far more money on equipment, gas for self-booked tours, and beer than we were ever paid After college ('96-'99) - worked at Wilderness Equipment in Houston selling outdoor camping/backpacking/climbing stuff... pay was so-so, but being able to take off for a month and climb whenever I wanted was pretty nice. Grad school ('99-'01) - 1) Williams-Sonoma & Pottery Barn in Austin - sales; 2) Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at UT/Austin in the Dept. of Asian Studies Post-Grad school ('01-a few weeks ago) - energy company in Houston - moved around in a bunch of different roles in Ops and Marketing Current - another energy company in Houston - marketing analyst

damn well mine is short and sweet Everyones' Internet March 2000 - July 2006 Tech Support, DSL Tech Support, Supervisor Verizon Wireless July 2006 - present Wireless Data Tech Support Coordinator EV1 was probably one of the best jobs out there, just crappy pay. Out of those 7 years, I probably worked a total of maybe 2. The best part of it? I never had to experience minimum wage. But my wage only jumped from $8 when I first started to $9.50 as a supervisor, pretty pathetic But saw the light and hoped over to Verizon Wireless. Funny story, when I turned 16, I applied every job possible. I applied at Bennigans, and the told my friend and I to come back in like 2 days for an interview, when we did, she said that the manager will just call us. Them bastards didn't call me till I was like 18 and already been working at EV1. That's some sh*t.
Most restaurants don't hire servers unless they're 18+ since 16 and 17 year old can't legally handle alcohol. So unless you were applying for a host position, they most likely weren't going to hire you that young. Of course, that still doesn't excuse them for straight up lying to you...
yea i understand that, but i was open for any position, shuck, i'd be a bus boy, i didnt care, i didnt specify in my application, i just put "open" for the position i was applying for.
Oh wow that would be a dream come true, thanks for the offer, at the moment I'm working on becoming a CPA, don't expect to be certified until March/April 08. I'm guessing that's a requirement... Plus I don't want to move until I have that title (too risky to move without it, live in Toronto). I hope your offer still stands a year from now
