The Heat defense is very good, especially in stretches. Sure enough, Wade's missing jumper is a major part of the problem with their offense. When I've watched them struggle, it's because their offense breaks down because none of his teammates can hit shots. It's Wade or nothing.
obviously, wade is only their playmaker. but wade's lack of a consistent jumper makes him a penetrator (as you see tonight). it's always pick and roll, pick and roll, and more pick and roll. it gets repetitive. but the role players are definitely playing better this year than last. hopefully wade picks it up though.
Listen to JVG... "i like to trap before the foul..." he says that a lot and every time, i go back to game 7 1st rd vs Utah in 2007.
the great players always get the luck. kobe is just too damn good. like JVG said, "that's greatness being personified."
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Wade has hit a couple of those this season himself. Missing FTs bit the Heat tonight. The Heat's inconsistency is baffling. You never know which team is going to show up. Than can lose to anyone and beat anyone. In the 4th quarter when Wade is on his game and they pull Beasley out and insert Haslem for defense, they are very very tough. They should have won tonight.
