to be honest. i dont think jt looked all that bad. I thought he did a few nice things, like finishing a couple shots inside.
Watching the game it was like kyle korver was showing Bud what he should be doing......They have the same style of game but korver is head and shoulders above Bud and he showed it last night. Bud depends on his shot too much.....He needs to drive to the basket more (atleast at this point) and ease off of shooting so many bricks. He is suppose to be a athlete and not so one dimensional,so this shouldnt be that big of a problem to correct.......I still say trade him....which i really believe he will be......IT IS WRITTEN.
I believe you. Chase suffers from a lack of confidence. He is slightly more talented than Ariza on offense,he should be able to do more.
i think he was 2 of 5 and should have been 1 of 5...that one shot where he screwed up the fast break barely went in for him. Might be only one play, but it was a very obvious and easy play to make. Yet he missed it. The worst part isnt' even that he didnt pass, but that he didn't even go right to the rim and instead dribbled across the paint....maybe just nervous, who knows. He also had 2 shots blocked...one on a nice pass by budinger. I thought he was going to give someone a facial, but he got a flat tire.
DD, Last year I said this would happen. i said that Chase had peaked in his rookie year and would not be any better than he was then. I said that he would be a solid player but nothing more than Brent Barry in his prime. I said the things an NBA player could improve on he was already solid at. If NBA players haven't developed extreme court vision and a killer crossover by now they probably never will. He is a slasher and spot up shooter, but was never capable fo creating his own shot. I said all this and DD, you called me bad names......
Budinger is the 2nd youngest guy on the team by a couple months over Ish, if that means anything. Budinger and Ish are also by far the worst shooters on the team of the regular players. Ish didnt figure to get regular playing time and will be out of the rotation when Brooks gets back, so Budinger is the most under-performing regular. Considering shooting is his main (possibly only) attribute, thats even worse. Shooters that can't shoot is like pitchers who can't pitch, whats the point. Rockets options at small forward are unfortunately thin unless you want to overplay Lee at SF or put in Jared Jeffries (or Kevin Martin, yeesh). By lack of better option, looks like Budinger better work it out quick.
I said it already and I'll say it again. Its C Lee. Thats the problem for Chase. last year when he went in the game he would play with Ariza and Lowry and those dudes would defer to him nd let him get his shots. Now this season, Lee is taking some of the shots away and his cuts to the basket. Its a little bit of confidence and his ankle.
Well, we are almost in agreement then. Give Bud's minutes to JT and Lee, and see if this lights a fire under his arse. I am not trying to be mean, but Bud is getting a lot of run, and showing very little in return. If you are not scoring, you need to find other ways to contribute. Getting pushed and shoved by softies like Korver and making Kleiza look like the second coming of MJ is not the way to do it.
You hit it on the nail. JT was very nervous yesterday. He feels like he can't screw up when he is called upon because he knows it might be a while before he gets to play again. JT can play much better than what he displayed yesterday. I feel for him because he is a pretty good offensive player and decent defensively. Aldeman ought to give him a real run before completely discarding him. In many ways, JT's situation is similar to Gerald Wallace earlier in his career.
So far Bud has been useless on D and useless on O, I don't see why JT is not getting a decent chance while Bud is playing terrible basketball. At least give him a chance, who knows, we might have came out with a win if he played more of Bud's minutes against the Bulls.
Budinger's minutes and shot attempts are nearly identical to last year's, as are his other stats. Only thing different is his lower shooting %'s Code: Chase Budinger Season Age Tm Lg G GS MP FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS 2009-10 21 HOU NBA 74 4 20.1 3.4 7.6 .441 1.2 3.4 .369 0.9 1.2 .770 0.5 2.5 3.0 1.2 0.5 0.1 0.6 1.1 8.9 2010-11 22 HOU NBA 17 0 20.4 2.8 8.0 .353 0.8 3.6 .226 1.1 1.4 .826 0.5 2.6 3.2 1.8 0.8 0.2 0.9 1.5 7.6 I do think they should run plays FOR Budinger, look to get him involved as a main option. Lee's offense does kinda clash with Budinger but they are both unselfish players. Budinger knows he'll get shots off kickouts so he should still be shooting better.
If you think, Chase has peaked..fine....I disagree....but please show me where I said these "Bad names". DD
