    JT has fire and attitude.

Something Chase severely lacks, and will probably never get.

My problem with JT is his lack of intelligence and understanding how to play team basketball.

However, as bad as Chase as been, why not give JT a shot?

    He's in a shooting slump, that's it.

When shooting is your primary skill, you look terrible when you're not hitting. He was a good shooter last year, and at Arizona, he'll come out of it. Patience is required.

I'm with you -- I was laughing at the 3on1 when he failed to give up the ball for an easy layup. Luckily for him, he ended up scoring.

JT doesn't fit in with the motion, five-passes-before-a-shot type offense. But what he is good at is scoring the ball. Put him in that role and deal with the rest. I think he can give you a good lift off the bench if you just told him, "when you're in there, we need you to give us a scoring lift."

I don't want to judge him after one game.. it takes a while to get comfortable in your role and start to blossom in it (Courtney Lee?). But it's certainly about time he got his shot. I don't know why Adelman feels Chase is entitled to his minutes -- he hasn't earned them this year. Bench him. I don't want to hear 'it could ruin him if he's benched'; I don't want a player that is that mentally weak on my team anyways.

Bench Chase and let him gain his confidence/earn his spot back in practice. It's time for JT.

What's the point of understanding how to play the game when you have nothing to offer on both offence and defence?

Unlike Battier, who has defence to offer, Bud has nothing to offer when his shots aren't going in.

Bud was awesome last year, but this year he just regressed. He needs some time on the bench or in the D-league, at least until he sorts his mess out.

JT on the other hand could use some playing time. We could always showcase his talent.

yeah that's fine but he should not get as many shot attempts if he is going to continue to brick. He needs to get his stroke going in practice and show some intensity and resolve. I think he may be hurt a little and doesn't know how to react to the 82 game reality of playing through pain. I know he will come around offensively but it can't be on company time. he needs to have his minutes reduced in favor of lee/battier for the meantime. As for his defense he needs to get that going or make sure he lets the trainers know he is not 100% because he is getting torched out there and I hope it's because of his ankle and not because he sucks.

JT seldom plays, and in the insignificant minutes that he does, he is feeling the pressure to produce. I am with you. Give the man a real chance, with significant minutes for 7-10 games.

Let's see if JT can backup his earlier statements that he is the 5th or 6th best player on the roster.

If that is the case, is it not an indictment on C-Bud's true abilities as an NBA player, namely, that he is so dependent upon a particular player to perform well.

Or that he plays better with a certain style of player....I am not sure that is it as he played well with AB last year as a starter as well...

Chase is just in a funk.

Unfortunately, I second that. A punk like Barnes b****-slapped C-Bud. No payback on the next play or anything like that. Soft, soft.

JT was given a chance yesterday. He looked terrible, IMO. He has the physical tools, but he's lost out there. He would have gotten more minutes if he didn't struggle so much.

You're right about Chase. But Lee will take his minutes, not JT.

First time in there with a unusual line up. And still got some positive. Chase got opportunity after opportunity and still struggling.

He gets all the mental aspects of the game- how to move without the ball, where he should be in the offensive flow, etc. It's nothing special, I'm just saying JT doesn't quite understand how to play yet.

There's a difference between having your shot not falling and making continual mental mistakes. Adelman isn't going to be very patient with the latter.

What he said...Rocketsheep always tend to over-value average players around here.
