He's shooting a dismal 38% from the field and 24% from three this season. That is significantly lower from his rookie season. I would think he would do better this season since Ariza isn't taking any of his minutes but I guess I was wrong. How can a rookie be so promising his first year...and then look like trash in his second year? It is a mystery to me.
He had a chip on his shoulder the first year, now he's satisfied with himself and seems to lack passion..
This is the reason he slipped in the draft. He just doesn't have the mental make up to be a great player. He just doesn't have the chip on his shoulder. Things have always been too easy for him.
Very big mystery. The only thing I can think of is that his ankle is still bothering him. Even last season, his shot seemed to go south when he didn't have his legs completely under him (back-to-back games, etc.). But Budinger still needs to be out there with the second unit because even if he misses, he's still an outside shooting threat and they still have to guard him out on the perimeter. It's a good thing Brad Miller is shooting so well. Without Miller, the second unit's offense would be nonexistent.
i dont think it has anything to do with "confidence" or "soph wall" hes still got a great shooting form but shots are just not falling for him... he will be fine by the end of the year.
Ugh, I hope that this lack of efficiency doesn't persist. Rockets Need his scoring off the bench in addition to his slashing
He was trash last year to, just made a couple jumpers thats all. He plays no D, turns the ball over as much as I would if I was on the court, and looks like he doesn't give a crap unless he gets on a VERY rare hot streak!
Dan Langhi. Bostjan Nachbar. Vassilis Spanoulis. Von Wafer. What do these players have in common with Budinger? THE CURSE IS REAL. If you are an Aaron Brooks fan you should be scared. Very scared.
The real problem is that DD was calling him an all-star before the season started. It was like a kiss of death. Edit: I'm like a half minute slow today.
Maybe, but he's also only 22, I believe. And it's obvious the coaching staff believes in him. It's too early to call him anything for certain.
A question for HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED: Would you still not trade Budinger for a TOP 4 PICK, because draft picks are a gamble? Since, you know, Budinger has proven himself in the NBA and is a SURE THING.
