Me personally I am not stigmatizing him. Sometimes we are all misunderstood. The question is does DD wants to be understood? its tough
Seriously this is funny, people that have issues with me coming into threads to pile on. I hope you are not one that complains about the GARM, because this is exactly what is hurting it. Pardon me for giving a dang. And to your point, if you were posting for 10+ years and were opinionated at some point people only recall some arguments more often than agreements. I don't have issues with anyone, and try to be respectful.....it is not reciprocated.....and that is just sad...imo. DD
I hope DD's kids don't read this thread. It would be traumatizing for them to have to see their dad get pwned so severely.
I can't tell what's worse here: the incredible agendas being exacted on DD (**** I almost feel bad for him) or his blatant refusal to back down. I can hardly keep track of all the content on the bbs, let alone how the politics and personalities of the board react to them. I don't know how you guys do it. I also don't know how you have that many hours in the day, DaDakota.
This thread's title should be appropriately changed to "What's with all the DD Hate now?" and moved to the D&D, in my humble opinion. To be on topic, I don't love Tmac at all, but I do hope he comes out and plays well to up his possible trade value, and who knows, it may help us win games in the process. I've only said that about a dozen times and that's about all I'll say about Tmac for fear of being flamed. Oh yeah, and for those who say that you wouldn't like to see Tmac back at all, I have news for you, he's still on the team...he hasn't been traded yet...so as of right now...he will probably play on the team sometime next year, so speaking on the basis of reality here, I want him to do his best while he's wearing our uniform, for our fans, our team, our future. I think Tmac love at this point is reserved completely for TOF, from what I can tell.
I'm not piling on you DD because I happen to like and admire your passion for the Rockets which I also had at one time. But DD, you have to understand that your tendency to go on personal crusades tends to rub many folks the wrong way because you bludgeon them with a barrage of posts where your positions are literally all over the place. As an illustration, recall your personal crusade and holy war against JVG. To read your posts, he was damn near the AntiChrist, did nothing right as a head coach and everything that was wrong with the Rockets team and organization was all HIS fault and his alone (thereby absolving the owner & front office of any responsibility in the matter). It certainly was a joyous day in DD-Land when his butt was sent packing. And then, to the amazement of no one, you started a "Can't We All Just Get Along?" thread where you admitted that JVG really wasn't all that evil in hindsight and that (gasp!) he actually did some positive things as head coach. Throughout it all, you absolutely refused to even approach the discussion with any semblance of objectivity or rationality and anyone who happened to take a differing position found themselves pummeled with post after post and thread after thread until your arguments lost all meaning and the original intent of said thread was lost or hijacked. And that was just with JVG - I don't EVEN want to talk about your mancrush (and subsequent holy crusade) in favor of Spanoullis.
y'all got to leave DD alone. hes a passionate poster, but he's passionate about the rockets. sure, sometimes it can get a lil out there, but at least it's rockets' passion.

If he is going to play. Just win baby. Winning cures ALL. Injuries happen in this sport. Grant Hill never met his full potential either. See?
I mean hey I think he lacks guts and that Tiger heart but he's a Rocket so hey LETS GO TMAC!!! (But I want him gone shhhh don't tell anyone)
Wow Mr. Clutch Crew! Pull your panties out. You seem to have a bad attitude, and yes it seems a bit personal. I don't agree with DD all the time but you Sir, Fell of the deep end. I understood what he said very clearly. Sometimes circumstances change, sometimes you change your approach. Sometimes your ego gets in the way and blinds you. Sometimes being able to reassess your situation will take you a long way. IMO Tracy is cancer, it's a fact he's a low %, high volume shooter. He is also in some peoples eyes a Superstar, but is also on the fence and injured. The situation is different now than it was a couple of months ago in the fact that Yao(our highest % shooter and the guy we run our offense thru), is out probably for the season. We were making a run for a championship w/out Tracy. Yao is out, Tracy is on the mend and his trade value is low. If Tracy never makes it back, he a expiring contract. If he makes a strong come back his value go's up, thus other team willing to take him on and you trade the cancer for more. Seems pretty simple? Von, according to his shooting % last season, shoots at a better clip than Tracy. Is he a smarter player? Probably not. Does he have baggage and attitude issues? Probably. Should we sign him to a large or long contract? Probably not. Would I rather have Von than Tracy? Yes. I don't care if Tracy makes a full recovery. Personally I'm done with him, But I'm not the GM. IMO, JVG keep pounding square pegs in round holes, couldn't stand the guy. IMO V-span was never given a fair shake, but I don't lose any sleep now that he's back home with mommy. The point is that we all have opinions, we all don't agree. I've said some rather harsh and illogical things, but I would expect more out of the clutch crew. We are all aloud to reassess the situation. But Sir, you deserve a negative rep.
This is not meant to bash but I don't understand how you can say his style is not conducive to winning. He (when healthy) can draw double teams, hit 3's, post, penetrate, dish, play decent defense and make smart decisions with the ball. I know people on here don't want to acknowledge them but those are all factors to success on a well constructed team. We have not had a well constructed team until this year and we still had holes. Efficiency is, to me, arbitrary. If you have to do everything then of course you are not going to have high ratings for that. There are very few players who have shouldered that type of load and who have been super efficient. I am excluding this year from my thoughts on him as being an asset to the Rockets. Can you be a little more realistic with your expectations and optimistic with your support here???
He puts up all the stats. Yes. He gets lazy and shoots nothing but jumpers. He quits on defense. He disappears at the end of big games. Why are there so many Mcgrady threads. And hes Tracy now. Everyone needs to stop referring to him as TMac. TMac has been MIA for years.
I would argue that if Tracy wasn't coming back from this injury we would be considered a higher seed in the west too. That is because they are both considered superstars and rightfully so. As you pointed out the overall team is better. I believe with these role players and one legitimate star we could present ourselves as quality adversaries to any team in the NBA. I still believe that...
