LOL what? How can the situation be the same when Jerome James was just a contract year wonder while Tmac has already renewed his contract a couple of times? The situation was not the same at all, JJ capitalized on Duncan being hurt and Isiah being stupid while T-mac mailed it in last season. For Tmac it was all about the mental aspect for the game, while for JJ he just plain sucks. You keep saying that Tmac will dog it once he gets his money but apart from last season do you have any proof to back it up? Why don't you look at his career playoff averages and compare it to his regular season averages?
Yet there are still Steve Francis threads in the GARM? Tracy McGrady, like him or not, has been a large part of the Houston Rockets team for the last 5 years. "Moving threads about him to the NBA Dish" is ridiculous.
No one is throwing anyone under the bus. All im saying is that McGrady just had bad luck thats all. As for the Iverson winning the MVP. Yeah he deserved it. But winning the MVP doesn't mean anything. Well I should say they don't always give it to the right person who deserves it. Perfect example. Dirk. The year he won it is the year that he shouldn't have won it. Steve Nash should have won it again. But they gave it to Dirk
They guy is a quitter, the biggest "jake" since Scotty Quitten quit on the Rockets against the Lakers in 99. Mentally weak me-back is done here in Houston. NEXT!
I dislike Scottie Pippen. But we knew he helped win rings that's why people here were excited we got him. His praise for his PREVIOUS TEAM was justified. They won a bunch of championships. That other guy you mentioned, We had optimism based on his talent and scoring ability, NOT HIS success on his PREVIOUS TEAM (Cause there was no success). Pippen only lasted one year, he somewhat did us a favor so we don't have to see him again. McGrady is the longest expensive free agent experiment we have.
No offense, but you proved DD's point by dredging up a post from 4/20 (before Yao was injured) where DD said he wanted McGrady gone. DD clearly said in this thread and others that now that Yao is down he would like to see what McGrady still has left.
There is no if he is really mentally weak ... he is. Aside from the health issues, the prima donna syndrome keeps him from being what the team needs to get to that next level ... he wants all the glory but when things don't go as planned he's on average teams ... or he lets a dunk go by because he lost his passion once again despite getting payed 23 million. The team that I love will never win anything with him as the team's best player because he isn't a leader. Time to move on and stop this horrid cycle.
Winning something is better than winning nothing. So you can say that about winning the DPOY. Deke has won that many times, you don't think it means something? Conference championships don't grow on trees either.
The post clearly stated he wanted him gone for the good of the fans - the reason for him wanting him gone is in the title of that thread. Nothing in that subject has changed - Tracy is still the supposed jerk that the fans don't deserve. So now that Yao is gone, it's ok to keep "the jerk" around? What happened to the good of the fans? Face it, the guy just wanted the man gone because he was pissed. He doesn't think rationally - he just reacts and posts. Then a few weeks later or months later, retracts or changes his opinion saying some major event caused the change. If I really was bored enough, I can find enough posts where the fact Yao was in or not, was never a qualifier. If you hang around enough, you get tired of the game he plays from player to player, season to season. This year it's going to be Chase... watch. Oh wait... it already was Chase. What changed there? Right... he actually watched the guy play. Dur.
The above quote should serve to elucidate upon the origin of any striking shift in conventional wisdom on this board. Once you subtract Dakota's 100 posts per thread on any given topic, the whole complexity of popular opinion changes. DaDakota is the ultimate "game changer."
When all is lost, hope still remains. Yao and Artest are gone. What do we have left? It's easier to believe Tmac has a stellar season than Chase wins ROY. People need hope.
Uh, yeah, the post was made BEFORE Yao went out...so BEFORE Yao went out....I wanted to trade TMac and build around Yao. NOW.....NOW.....Yao is out, the situation changed, so therefore the need to trade TMAC right NOW....changed..... No big shock to anyone without an agenda. Budinger...yep, I was upset that we had not gotten in on the bigger trades at the draft, and thought we were in WIN NOW...build around YAO mode. And, that CHANGED.....Yao was out....so the WIN NOW....is also out. I don't mind being called for my opinions, I just want the context done correctly, you are not being honest. And this is a BULLETIN BOARD...where people POST THEIR OPINIONS.....you just don't happen to like that I post a lot...fine.....I get it....but how is it helping if you follow me around and instead of posting about the topic, attempt to start a fight? You are not helping the GARM, you are being part of the problem. DD
Of course the opinion changed, the situation changed.....I don't see why people have such a hard time understanding that. If you have Yao......you are building ONE type of team....if you subtract Yao, the expectations change and you build another type of team. Different viewpoints on each.....got to be able to adjust your thinking. Pretty simple really. DD
Epic Post!! And DrofDunk, don't front. You KNOW that you jumped like you were on the intro to Fame when Maxwell hit that three against the Knicks. Don't hate your childhood like Michael Jackson, it was good back then, we won!
Hey look another post about ME...not a post about the thread topic, but about the topic that D.o.D, apparently wants to post most about. YIPPEEE !!! You are being completely disengenious, I still want TMac GONE...I just want the team let him play now and build his value before trading him at the deadline...... DD
I think that's part of the reason he had the commitment to go to Chicago [for his rehab] and say, "Tell me what do to. You tell me, I'll do it." And because of all that - I mean, what he's doing now, it's so little compared to what he will be asked to do in the coming months. The one thing that's good, and one of the things I heard last month quite a bit, is that there have been no setbacks. (...) There are two reasons for optimism: [no setbacks], and that his leg strength has been reported as being just really good, way better than what it has been. It's kind of what they hoped would happen last year. They say they feel really good about the leg strength. So there are some good signs, but there's just a long, long way to go. -Jonathon Feigen
