That's a cool looking picture (though probably not so fun if you're out driving in it). I want some of that. They keep saying we're supposed to get "isolated thunderstorms" out here. We were also supposed to get some hurricane fallout. But, outside of one storm Sunday night and a few drops off and on Wednesday, I haven't seen any of it.
oh yeah? I've got a simular crack that I'm worried is gonna fail me in a couple weeks...any uhmm, tips for passing?
i absolutely hate this weather. i can't do ANYTHING outside.. just whenever i was starting to get into mountain biking
Let me tell you about my day: - Go to the hospital because my wife has to have day surgery - We get there at 7:30 and don't get to leave until about 4:00 - While waiting I get a call on my cell phone from my manager, telling me they won't be able to hire me on in Houston after all, and since I don't want to move to Oklahoma they will probably have to let me go in the near future. This after being promised for the last 6 months that I'd be hired on and could remain in Houston. I also just bought a house last month and moved a few miles away from work, anticipating this offer. - After getting home and helping the wife into bed, I decide to go drop off her prescriptions and pick up lunch (at 5:00 pm.) The heavens open and rain just starts coming down like crazy. I get absolutely soaked and it takes me 45 minutes to drive the 2 miles back home because there is high water everywhere. - There are still 6 hours left in the day so stay tuned, who knows what could happen next! sorry, had to vent and figured this was as good a place as any.
I've lived in Houston all my life, so I know. I just think it's weird that the summer started out so dry and the summer weather pattern seems to have changed overnight. I didn't know if there is a reason for that. Maybe our resident bbs weather man (Jeff) can explain it? I'm not complaining. In the words of the immortal Ian Astbury, I love the rain. Just not during rush hour! Joshfast, I worked there for 3 years. It was a blast. It's hard work but you can move up really fast (if you can sell) and make some decent money. I was an assistant manager after 6 months and a manager after a year. It was the perfect job for a recent college grad. Most people there are right out of college so it was a really fun work environment. I got burned out because of the hours but I don't regret working there.
This is a mistake a lot of people make ~ Ian is actually saying "I love Lorraine" his girlfriend at the time.
I had a much bigger crack (actually two cracks) all the way across the windshield. When I got it inspected, I asked the guy beforehand if it would fail the inspection. He told me they aren't required to safety check windshields. I passed
in order for it to fail your inspection, it would need to make it difficult to see thru your window...a little crack like that is nothing, a inspector will barely glance at it. well, that is only partially true...if you had a spiders web style smashed windowshield...that would fail since it impedes the drivers vision of the road. little known fact. You dont have to have a windowshield.
The recent weather is annoying the hell out of me. This off on and on rain nonsense. Its like having gas all week. You're just a fartin' and a burpin' all the damn time. It never goes away and you keep hoping that that next dump you take will finally get it all out of your system once and for all. That's what I wish this weather would do: just give us one big shower and be done with it! Of course there are no mountains in Houston. There are a number of great trails for the mbiking, though.
..and this board just became a classier place. (though it is interesting when you guys come back from the bars on Friday night)
