I agree. I noticed about the same time his slump began, he couldn't buy a foul call. Much like what was happening during the first ten games of the season to K-Mart. Even Bill mentioned it tonight. Could it have something with to do with his legal problems? A possible directive from the league to punish him, since they have no real power in this matter? Something else? Or are the lack of foul calls lately, just a coincidence?
he needs to get his skills together and showcase his talent, he reminds me of brooks when he came back and got traded
When Kyle has struggled defensively the bad play carries over to the offense. The opposing ball carrier had 1 or 2 steps on Kyle from their opening possessions last night. He just couldn't keep up, wasn't even screened.
Repped... How long did yall think those last second heaves were gonna continue to go in and attribute to his "borderline All-Star stats"?.... The guy is getting scouted as the engine behind the Rockets... Teams now know that if they stop Lowry, we probably aren't gonna beat them... It's called adjustments, people!!!..
That's a great point. One player (can't remember who) recently described stopping Lowry as "cutting off the head of the snake". That about says it all. Without Lowry playing over his head, we are bottom feeders. With Lowry playing over his head, we are, at best, a 9 seed. Throw up all the stats you want about Martin and Scola, etc. Doesn't matter. If Lowry doesn't play sensational, our odds of winning the game go down to about 10%.
Lowry hasn't been playing "over his head," at least shooting-wise, for some time now, and the team has quite consistently beat the "bottom-feeders" (Minny and Milwaukee are better than their records). At the beginning of the season, the team really struggled without Lowry, but Dragic seems to have come around and can now be trusted.
Or maybe, just maybe- Kyle is finally playing to his normal level. Kyle is no all star- he was who we thought he was
He kinda got put on a pedastool after playing pretty well, which makes the poor play all the more devastating. As I said earlier, most of his "improvement" has to do with usage rather than actually playing any better. When your offense is run off one person, defenses can key in on that and give you problems. Same thing happened to Brooks and people crucified him for it. Hopefully it is just a slump/injury/fatigue issue and not an exposure issue.
it might sound stupid but i think we should start dragic wed against the spurs because remember last time kyle couldn't guard parker
That's not true. This year, Kevin Martin has been playing a lot better defense than before and Dalembert has been helping out. Also Parsons is playing pretty solid defense. Lowry, I feel like took a step back defensively.
We know that Adelman was his favorite coach and maybe he is seeing the new one as a sort of stepfather figure, and it's understandable for that relationship to not sparkle right away BUT has anybody else been bothered with Lowry's body language while talking with McHale on the sidelines? Dismissive is what he's hinted to me, and this quote throws more wind on that suspicion to me.
yes! i forgot what game it was, but a few games back , Kyle walked to the bench and he yelled at McHale about something. I think I saw this when I was at the Wizards game last Friday. Not too sure if it was shown on TV, but I saw it.
