You clearly have no idea what understanding a role on a team is, or how it is important to have a hierarchy and it was clear that Ariza and Brooks were bristling for control of the team.

In the battle for alpha dog on last year's team......

Brooks won, Ariza lost.....and honestly, the team is better for it.

And the Rockets saw it and moved the potential malcontent out and down the road.

WOOHOOO ....Go Rockets for recognizing a potential time bomb and sending him packing.

This is lame. Brooks didn't have a fallout with Ariza. DM took a chance on Ariza cause we had the injury exception which allowed him to get a season long look. Lets just say there was a bulge underneath that skirt.

Why are so many people looking for some reason or character flaw that caused the Rockets to trade him? Rockets figured out he was never going to be anything more than a good perimeter defender with an average outside shot and got rid of him for someone that is pretty much as good as him on D, but costs about 5 times less, help improve depth at the 2 spot behind Martin, is a better shooter, and comes with a sizable TE. Plus, he was on DM's "Do Want" list. It is not that hard of a concept people... Jeez... I know this is the offseason, but stop trying to kick over flowers looking for ****. Do that your own time and keep the rest of us out of that BS.

It is summer, nothing else to talk about, and some of us saw the character flaw before we even got the guy and pointed it out.....

He is a hot headed player who thinks he is better than he really is, and needs to play with a superstar to put him in his place and set the table for him so he can eat.

The Rockets traded him to a division rival, clearly not afraid of facing him 4 times a year...says a lot really......

And the team was better with Shane and Cbud playing anyway.

I understand the Trevor lovers, I wish them well in New Orleans.

Either way, talks about his character flaws are just speculation and rumors unless a player or staff actually comes out with examples of detrimental behavior. The guy played hard for us, he is no longer with us, we should all leave it alone and talk about how awesome another year of AB+Lowry is going to be!

Lol at using the traded to a division rival argument.

TA is not a superstar. Certainly no one is going to be afraid to "face" him multiple times a year.

Does it say anything about his value as a very good role player? Not at all. Unless you are a blind hater.

In which case you might be.

Not really. Do you think the Spurs are sour that it's the Rockets that have Luis Scola as opposed to, say, the Nets or some other Eastern Conference team? I don't. As far as they were concerned Houston was an afterthought and presented very little threat to their playoff aspirations. Sure, they regretted losing Scola, because he has proven to be a quality player, but it wasn't worsened by the fact that we got him.

I think the only time organizations are hesitant to trade intra-division is when a) dealing a superstar talent, or b) dealing with a team that could hinder your own playoff aspirations. Neither of those apply to Scola or Ariza. I'm sure Morey doesn't consider New Orleans to be a threat to keep us out of the playoffs anytime soon, so moving Trevor there was no different than sending him to Atlanta. With or without him, we're still better than NO and that's a credit to our roster and coaching.

So if the move truly "says anything," it says that he's not a superstar, which everyone knows anyways. Role players can be traded intra-divisionally without much consequence...that is unless you are giving a team that final piece they need to get over the hump. The Hornets aren't in that position.

Yes, they are.......they can not stand that the Rockets got Scola.

Look whatever, I don't like Trevor, never did, and am glad his punk butt is gone.

DD simply has strong opinions about players that he likes or dislikes (don't we all?) and practices very little restraint or eloquence sometimes in expressing those opinions. While I don't necessarily agree to those opinions, I can respect the fact that he stands by them for the most part. If you disagree with him, just move on. Even DD needs someone to talk to in order to respond! ;) Well I hope that is true at least, otherwise this thread may never end...

    Too funny.

In the long history of ClutchFans, there has never yet been an instance where someone made a prediction followed by "book it" or "mark my words" and it actually came true.
