What's the most money/most expensive prize you've ever won?

I played the monopoly game at McDonalds religiously every year from when I was about 9 until I was like 15.

The most I ever won was a Big Mac Value Meal.

I had every single piece needed except 1 every year I think.

 

Well no kidding. How it works is that there is one "rare" piece per property set. For instance, there are millions of Park Place pieces but only a couple of Boardwalks. As long as you keep going back, you're bound to get all the pieces except for the winners.

I picked Birdstone to win the Belmont at 33-1 and I picked the Reds to sweep the A's in WS at 40-1. I couldn't believe either one. Time of your life kid.

My mom and her spouse won an online contest sponsored by Gilette. They won a trip for two to ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD that they could plan themselves for two weeks. They spent a week in Australia and a week in New Zealand. Also included in this prize was a complete home theatre system (big screen TV, stereo, computer, DVD/VCR, speakers, etc...) and 10,000 US spending money.

Pretty freaking awesome.

Meanwhile, I'm happy with my big $30 win on slots.

I won $1000 from the scratch off Break the Bank and I bought a JL Audio system with the money. I also won roughly $1000 from a single hand in poker, straight flush 9d-kd.

 

Maybe it's that you're just starting and I've at it a while?


I've often get a 'sense' of when I'm going to win. E.g., I knew when I was going to win in the Ca lotto..I actually was getting anxious and broke out in a sweat while waiting in line to purchase the tickets. We hit 5 of 6 numbers for the $1600, only missed splitting one of the largest jackpots by one digit...by the value of 1 ... ).

One of my $2000 wins was on a cruise ship. Someone had just told me to not bother...that they wouldn't pay out. I don't think that I had put more than a few dollars in before it hit.

On another occasion I asked a coworker how to play roullette. I placed one chip on the table on a winning number and hit it. My coworker 'instructor' asked my how I knew to play that number.

I felt good about a roullette table at the Bellagio once and started winning. My wife walked up and asked how to play. The dealer was on the other side of her and thought she was speaking to him. He just pointed to me and said 'Ask him'.

My $4000 win was a few minutes after we arrived at the Bellagio for our wedding. I bought a lot of presents for our family that had travelled to Vegas for us.

I even found a large wad of $20's in a parking lot once. But some homeless guy had asked for money just a few minutes earlier. I felt very strongly that the money was really meant for him so I found him and gave it to him.

 

4 years free college + books, 1 free year room and board with 300 dollar monthly stipend.

It's like a 4 year long, paid vacation.

 

Lol that is also my biggest win. I won a free McFlurry just on Monday. It was the tastiest McFlurry ever.

I won a TV in Highschool..

 

I won a basketball signed by Dream, Drexler and Barkley.

 

I wouldn't know, that's certain. He did not seem to truly comprehend what I had handed him, but I turned and left quickly so maybe it would just take him a little extra time.

I hope he had a lot of good meals off of it.

 

Won the first xbox a month before it came out.

 

I won a Nokia N-Gage QD cell phone from Nokia last year at UT's Engineering Career Expo...!

I've still yet to use it...

 

I won an autographed Yao Ming basketball from SportsRadio 610 during the NBA Draft.

 

$6000 for a competition in high school. Unfortunately, my prize was in bonds... so it'll be a while before it gets to 6000 dollars.

 

I won a black and white tv at graduation. WTF?!?! How in the world was that even in production in 2001?
