i never knew that people actually got into fights at games in the USA unless it was a heated playoffs/championship game. i went to a knicks game a few years ago wearing my rockets gear (this was the post-ewing knicks who always suck) and some guy on the escalator was giving me lip about wearing it to MSG and was staring me down. i was like, "dont be hating on me, blame john starks for missing all those shots". anyways, i thought he was just playing around but when i reflect back, he probably would have tried to start a fight with me if my gf wasn't with me.

but back to the topic, i worked in philly last summer and philly people are the worst. my co-workers all explained to me that if you wear a steelers or penguins jersey around town during the season, you will get punched in the face. philly people love to start fights. i got into so many staredowns over the smallest things when i was living there. it is anything but the city of brotherly love.

I dont know. Mcdonald fans are pretty wild. I heard they beat down a few Burger King fans.

What is with these types of cars? In my town I have seen a Skittles car just like that. I also saw a Superman and a Joker ride but those looked cool.

In some European city's you don't even dare wear the opposing team's colours! A jersey would be a challenge to the death!

Dangerous? I agree with Philly and possibly Detroit.

I would love to wear Rockets EVERYTHING in Utah, especially as they went down to the Lakers.

Those Utah boys won't do anything. I'd like to see them try.

a lot of lakers fans are just plain ignorant...see i am not so much bothered by the lakers winning the title as so much their fans.

there are no doubt a lot of intelligent rational minded laker fans, i know a handful but the majority i come across are just ignorant.

worn rockets stuff before to laker games, game 7 was bad but i dont really blame the lakers fans for being happy they just won a playoff series.

it was worse during the first game of the season last year when battier hit that 3 to win the game and i had all these laker fans start yelling and cussing at me, at lot of them these really rich ungrateful 10-13 year olds. their parents were no different, i was like dude you just lost the game let it go.

what i will never understand is people wearing jerseys to games just because they have a jersey. I have seen people just wear any jersey to a game

    my rules are
    a) needs to be a jersey of one of the two teams playing regardless of player
    b) needs to be a jersey of a player playing regardless of team (ex: someone wearing a orlando shaq jersey to a phx suns game now)

I mean i have seen people wear shawn marion and steve nash jerseys to a rockets/lakers game before. And plenty of others where I am like WTF is this.

The most random was that I saw someone wear a Jermaine O'neal Pacers jersey to a Clippers/Hornets game

I was there for Game 4. And guess who was sitting right by me and my friend? 2 lakers fans. They never heard the end of it. But they actually were pretty decent guys. I was surprised, I didnt think a decent laker fan existed. They gave us credit at the end of the game.

And when aaron brooks punked them with that half court alleyoop.

My grandmother insisted I change my shirt before leaving the house when I visited her in Glasgow many years ago. It was gameday, and I was wearing blue.

She doesn't even follow the sport. It wasn't so much that she feared for my safety -- just didn't want me shaming her by wearing Rangers colours!

I wore my Paul Pierce jersey all around LA for one day when I was out there last year around July. I got some stares but nothing really happened to me.

That drives me nuts man! Esp, when these tools have great seats and come out on tv, like some kid in the front row wearing a lebron jersey to a rockets mavs game. or a random emmit smith jersey at a bears packers game, it's like WTF!

My friend wore a duke shirt when we went out in Chapel Hill once ... we had a pint glass thrown at us from a rooftop bar - three stories up.

Another friend got spit on for doing the same thing.

If you want to be stared at all day, wear a duke jersey at unc. If you want to fear for your life, do all the things the futbol guys said.

I'll say this about Razorback fans...which is funny, because my wife and her family are all Razorback fans.

I've never seen more classless fans in my life than I saw at the first round of March Madness in Austin back in 1995. Absolutely classless. Cheerleaders included. Had I been a Razorback fan, I would have been embarassed. Awful.

I went to a Phillies game in 2005 not wearing Phillies gear and got no trouble. Of course I was sitting 5 rows back from home plate and we were business guests of the concessionaire. When I got to Philadelphia I knew enough to not wear my Stros cap since the Phillies were in a wildcard race with the Stros so I wore my Colt 45's hat figuring no one would recognize it. Surprisingly a few people did but rather than grief they thought it was pretty cool to see an old school hat like that.

The worst experience I had at a major league park was two years ago at the Milwaukee where I had someone throw a bottle at me while I was cheering Biggio score on a sac fly. Luckily he missed and it was a plastic Miller Lite bottle anyway but never had that happen to me.

I've been to Wrigley twice and while I have gotten some friendly ribbing from Cubs fans nothing hostile. Last time I was there one female Cubbie got very friendly in Wrigleyville after the game. I guess she couldn't resist a guy wearing a rainbow Stros jersey circa 1987. :D

In college there's been some hostility wearing CAL gear at Stanford and I once a Clemson fan threatened to beat me up after CAL beat them in a bowl game. CAL is rough on visiting fans, where if you wear a red shirt you are likely to get rolled up, but even rougher on visiting bands. Its a CAL tradition to throw fruit at the USC band.

The Mavs fans are crap. I went with my wife to Game 2 of the 2004 Playoffs. We got the heckling (imagine 2 Rockets fans and all around us in our section were Mavs fans.....not one Rockets fan in sight), but it was great to leave with a smile on my face w/ the T-Mac dunk over Bradley and the game winner by T-Mac.

But I really got it during our 22 game winning streak. Win #18 was against the Mavs. The Rowdies came up from Houston and the Dallas Chapter of the Red Rowdies got together. Man, we got heckled by everyone.....but in the end, we stomped and romped downstairs in their arena after we kicked their ass.
