The Raiders still draw crowds and sell out games, but it is the NFL, and everyone loves the NFL so NFL games sell out most anywhere.

But of course there is nothing like the playoff atmosphere in the Black Hole. The Dolphins lost 27-0 that day and though some of the players would never admit it, they were intimidated by the craziness of the crowd, you could tell by some of the pre-game interviews.

People get stabbed at Dodger games too, its probably a gang-affiliated thing, lots of LA gangs wear Dodger and Raider gear.

Any soccer team that has hooligans, which in Europe or South America is pretty much a guarantee.

    Hooliganism

About 5 years ago my ex and I were chosen to go onto the court at a Rockets game during halftime, it was around Christmas. Each person got to either choose a gift and get what was inside, or shoot a free throw and win a Rockets Road Trip to San Antonio. Well, I chose a gift and actually won a Rockets Road Trip to LA! My ex was the last one to go and she decided she was going to shoot the free throw, she said she couldn't make it so the commentator said she could shoot a layup, but she said she couldn't make that either. Then Bo Outlaw came out and said I'll shoot a layup for her, and with that we won the Road Trip to SA.

Flash ahead to the trip in LA...we wore our Rockets gear, and those Lakers fans would not stop heckeling (sp?) us the entire game! On our way to our seats I almost got into a fight with a guy in the bathroom because he pushed me out of the way when I was washing my hands. At our seats a guy stood up and was constantly cussing at us. When I went to the concession stand a guy literally followed me the entire time saying crap to me. Even while I stood in line. After the game I was ready to knock someone out, but I figured I could hold it in a little longer. Well on our way back to the car some people walking in the opposite direction passed us. An old lady said "Go Rockets" and I responded with "Go to Hell." We had lost and I figured she was being sarcastic, but later on I felt bad about it. Anyway, I would think twice before wearing my Rockets gear there again.

San Antonio wasn't nearly as bad, but we did hear it a few times and get a few dirty looks. I don't think anything will top LA though.

    Philly is the worst.

I was at a bar once in Philly hanging out and the Phillies score came on and the Astros won. Keep in mind the Stros were out of the race and Philly had basically clinched the pennant. This was about 15-16 years ago.

I said Yes! UNDERMYBREATH. No one could here me - or so I thought. Because the bar was silent when the score came up, someone did hear, and said, "WHO SAID THAT?????" "WHO SAID THAT"

The bartender nodded towards me...and 5 guys came up and threw me out of the bar to a cheering crowd.

Cubs fans are pansies, most of them are people who moved to Chicago from places like Iowa and Indiana after college and act like they are die-hard Cubs fans now.

With that said, I definitely wouldn't wear Astros gear to a White Sox game.

I'm sure a soccer situation will take the cake. When people die in relation to a sport, that wins the prize. For me, as a Longhorn fan, I've been to road games at Texas A&M, Colorado, Ohio State, Texas Tech, and in LA (Rose Bowl vs. USC.) Obviously, the Red River Rivalry has its share of hate, too, in that both sides sit side by side a the game. But, the one place I've been that seemed worse than all the others was the road game to Arkansas back in 2004. Why? Well, years and years of animosity and hate. That's the only time I left a game where I somewhat felt for my own safety.

I like to give opposing jerseys a little hell when I'm at Rockets games, its usually just good natured stuff... If they are just there watching the game just sitting there I'll leave them alone for the most part... if there are obnoxious Laker fans (which are pretty much the only kind) I'm there to give them **** and lots of it.

Game 4 was sweeeeeet, I gave so many Faker fans hell. It was awesome. Nothing pisses me off more than loud-mouthed Faker fans trying to take over the home turf.

Also ask Dave2000, Kam, Mig and them what I did to some obnoxious Mavs fans after a Rockets-Mavs game one time.

    heh.

I wore a Texans hat and shirt when the Texans played the Eagles at the Vet in their expansion season.

Went with a group of Eagles fans and we went to the radio tent where Angelo Cataldi was doing a live pregame broadcast. They put me on the radio and gave me some good natured hell. Cataldi called me an "American @sshole". I reminded them that the Texans had beat Dallas that year so that helped the Eagles out a bit. Everyone laughed and it was fun.

That blonde douche they used to show on MNF commercials wearing pads and a jersey in the stands was there and gave me dirty looks.

There were fights and quite a bit of debauchery going on around us, we sat in the 600 section.

I got teased by other fans but because we had no real rivalry and we were an expansion team no one was really mean about it.

Boston Jersey at an LA game?

Lakers fans are thugs, I'm sorry, they are just bad...

That or an opposing jersey at a Utah game, they'll try and convert you to LDS... Just kidding, :D

    It's soccer/futbol and it doesn't come close

Glasgow Scotland - Celtic/Rangers rivalry is probably the most thuggish in all of UK

Argentina - Boca Junors - cups of urine are thrown around at Boca games

Italy - any of the big rivalries between Inter, AC, Roma, Juventus....italian soccer mobs are pretty dangerous and nasty with a penchant for setting things on fire. Really.

Not too sure about that. I was at the last game of the season against the cowboys wearing Texans gear. If you remember correctly, the Texans were partially responsible for getting the Eagles in the playoffs. Everyone loved me there.

Then again, Philly fan's memory is as short as my 3-year old's attention span.

Damn, getting into fights and people being huge a-holes to other people because they cheer for a different team makes me feel pretty bad for humanity, in general. Does anyone else feel like this when they hear these stories? People getting pissed on, beer thrown at them, or just a dad wanting to bring his children to watch a game and ending up being heckled the entire time are events that make me mad just thinking about them.

To get back to the topic, I road-tripped to a few different SEC stadiums when I was in college. There were some times when I felt a little scared, but I attribute that more to everyone being drunk than just the hatred of the rivalry.

^^^^^ Correct. You DO NOT wear opposing teams colors to an Oakland game, unless you're looking for trouble

I've mentioned several times on there about how appalled I was at the behavior of both some of the Rockets and Lakers fans at game 3 in Houston. I've been to numerous baseball, football, and basketball games, and while I've seen a little bit of friendly banter at some (at Cubs fans during an Astros game and at Browns fans during a Texans game), there was nothing like I've experienced at Game 3. Watching a Lakers fan get beat up by 8 Rockets fans outside the Toyota Center, 2 guys get into a shoving match in front of my son- it outright sucked, to be honest with you, and took a lot of the fun out of the experience.

Either the Lakers fans were being obnoxious and provoking the Rockets fans (happened in 2 incidents I witnessed), Rockets fans were being rude and violent for no reason (one incident was clearly an unprovoked attack on a Lakers fan), or both (probably #3), it was stupid. Mostly alcohol-fueled.

I was at the AC Milan v. Juventus game in Milan back in 2005. We got scalped tickets on the day of the game, and could only find a seat on the Juve side of the stadium. It was scary.

Yeh it sucks for soccer like that. Here in Australia like you guys in the US you can always go to pro sports together and sit next to people from the other side and all walk out together and 99.9% of the time the worst that happens is someone makes a little crack at you if your team lost.
