Herbs are either a fruits or vegetables used to season other foods. A vegetable is either the stem, root, leaf, or combimation of the two that could be considered a main or side dish. Think of it like this: you might say bring me a side of potatoes but you wouldn't say bring me a side of thyme. What's the difference between DDR and SDR? Which one is more commonly used?
Been a while since I used Linux (Mac OS X and Solaris 8 are as close as I get these days) but I always used to use the Slackware distro...
DDR -- Double Data Rate ram SDR -- Single Data rate ram it is just like it sounds.... (tryin not to geek speak here) DDR can do double the amount of calculations(which all processes on your computer basically are) that SDR can. SDR is still probably the widest used since there are so many older systems out there(pre Athlon XP and P4)... Most new Athlons and P4s use DDR...some P4s also can use Rambus memory, but DDR is quickly becoming the new standard.
What's the difference between a rooster and a hooker? A rooster says "****-a-doodle-do" A hooker says "any-****'ll-do"
Memory technically doesn't do calculations at all. DDR can send data to the processor for calculations at twice the rate of SDR.
Also, what is the difference betwen all the DVD burner type drives out? DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, + this, - this, etc.?
1. OEM is Original something Manufacturing or something like that its basically the same product as the retail one except it doesn't come in a box, or with software, instruction manual etc. like the retail one would. I usually end up getting OEM products depending on the price difference, sometimes its dramatic, sometimes its a buck or two cheaper. 2. There really isn't much of a difference betweent the different DVD types, they all basically do the same thing. The difference comes in with compatibility, DVD-RAM on the verge of being phased out. You don't see DVD-RAMs very often. The two most compatible DVD types are DVD-RW and DVD+RW, they work for nearly all types of DVD players. One could say that DVD-RW (DVD-R) and DVD+RW (DVD+R) are in competition together. EDIT: I found this site http://www.dvdirect.com/TSS/charts/DVDFormats.htm
So what would be the difference in Windows OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer) and retail? What type of DVD burner would you recommend?
1. There is no difference between Windows XP Pro OEM and Windows XP Pro Retail, except the OEM is much cheaper Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack SP1a - OEM - $139 S/W Microsoft Windows XP Professional - RETAIL BOX - $278 OEMs are specifically made for companies like Dell, Compaq, Sony etc. but the software is all the same I even have the OEM installed on my homebuilt PC EDIT: . OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer = a company that makes/markets computers (and parts), etc. which include parts made by other companies, and not the “original” manufacturer as OEM implies, just masquerading as one. OEM processors are earmarked for companies that build computers; Retail processors are packaged for store shelves and sold mainly to end-users. I buy both kinds. Retail (or "boxed retail," "PIB," "Processor in a Box") versions usually include a heatsink-fan (which may or may not be already mounted on the processor), user instructions, warrantee, etc. and OEM versions do not. See http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/cpu/socka/1.html for more info on OEM and Retail processors, especially regarding heatsink-fans. http://www.duxcw.com/dcforum/DCForumID1/216.html Also the thing is you have to purchase OEM software with some kind of hardware because its you cant buy it on its own (I believe) so alot of computer stores will sell you like cheap 20cent screws or nails with the product so you can go around it 2. I currently have a DVD+R/RW burner. DVD burners have dramatically gone down in price, you should be able to pick one up at maybe around $80 or so
You only need an OS on the master drive. I am running two HDDs right now and my slave drive is all storage.
