I agree totally, we can close this thread. Jeff would stay with Chuck and Rafer until we were down by 40. Rafer and Chuck both shooting less than 20%

Difference to me is if T-Mac & Yao both have bad games, someone else has shown they can step up and help us win. We have more help at our two weakest spots (PG and PF).

One difference is that Carl Landry and Aaron Brooks would be rotting away on the end of the Rockets' bench if the JVG was still the coach. He wouldn't have even allowed them to use the D-League.

In JVG's time, during most of the times players tended to play in a "conscious and cautious" manner - they had to remember what the coach said and were afraid to make mistakes.

When they are playing under RA, they are more relaxed and perform in a "sub-conscious" mode. I think great sports performance can only be seen when players use their "sub-conscious" in the execution of their games - they train in a conscious mode, and play and execute sub-consciously.

If the Rox continue following RA's plan, the sky is the limit.

Yes, in JVG's time, opponent coaches had only one game plan against the Rox: The Contain 111 Plan. Now their plans are piling up: Contain LS, Contain CL, Contain AB, Contain LH, Contain RA ........

    Novak plays

    Landry plays

    Brooks plays

    Scola plays

    Bonzi plays

If JVG all these guys butts would be getting splinters.

Good observation. Being "Sub-conscious", being relaxed yet at the same time focused. Or getting into a zone. No system is perfect, improvisations on spot is key to mask the impefections of systems. Great teams figure out ways to get things done in the flow, there's no time to think, no time to worry about mistakes, great plays that catch the opponents off guard happen in split seconds following players' instincts and skills. It's a game, it's supposed to be free flowing and fun. That's RA's game.

The difference between this current Rocket team and JVG's Rocket teams is how they've performed when T-Mac was out of the lineup, which we know is better than any one of JVG's Rocket teams.

Since that is the case with this current Rocket team, people on this board have been calling for T-Mac to be traded away saying they play better without him in the lineup because they move the ball around better. Or there has been debate on this board as to whether or not the team is better without T-Mac than with him. There was never such debate like what I've seen this season on this board with JVG's Rocket teams concerning T-Mac.

Okay. I just want to fess up and say I lost the argument(quite badly I might add). I still feel JVG is bad for rookies, but as you pointed out, it's just a personal opinion and I don't really have a factual basis for it. I do kind of want JVG to come back into coaching so I can see just how he coaches another team though.

I do still disagree on some minor points here, but really, it's not worth it considering the research I have to do... I admit I'm lazy.
