I did grow up in a Christian household. But I really don't know anymore. Now are you really going to preach to me from the bible? Like seriously? Really, don't. It's not going to get you anywhere. People can be such hypocrites, preaching from the bible, and yet not adhering to what is taught in it, ie. the ten commandments, etc.
I am not Christian, nor religious at all.............. But It is more hypocritical to believe in a religion that firmly states "several times" the roles of women according to God....... I agree with you, but understand that feminists groups take it way too far many times..............

It really wasn't my choice, I was merely brought up in a Christian household. It was what I was brought up to believe in. However, I have since grown up and although many see the bible as this holy thing and believe that it is blasphemous to say anything bad about it, I believe that the various writers of it also contributed their patriarchal views into the bible. I do agree with you that many feminist groups take it way too far sometimes, but they are not the only feminists in the world. Feminists are all stereotyped as these crazy females who hate men. There are actually many different types of feminists. Most of us an overarching goals, and that is equality between the sexes. However, there are other feminists who probably do hate men and may want to establish their own female-only society.

These two statements are completely contradictory. By definition, different means not equal. But as Rocket River said, different and unequal does not mean one is superior to the other in value.

I will ask you, are you Christian? If you are why would you use the bible to try and subjugate one sex to those roles mentioned. At the time the bible was put together Jesus had been dead for decades. Your misuse of the bible to be something other than just or loving, which you have just done, is offensive to a Christian like me. I understand that you may have a different understanding of the bible. I'm just confused that your understanding would be one of inequality, unjustness and less than loving. Also you clearly had some misconceptions of how the bible as we know it came to be in regards to when Jesus lived.

I didn't see this. The problem with you claiming the bible is translates to the meaning you have translated it to, means that you have chosen the most fundamentalist translation and meaning possible, for a religion that you don't even practice.
Biblical gender roles vary somewhat through the Bible (based on writer, audience, and situation). So I think the best gender roles are expressed in Proverbs. That's where the wife cooks, hires and manages the servants, manages the business and farm, and invests. The husband goes to the city gates and debates philosophy and politics.
