I thought Eddie and Boki would be the real deal.

I thought JVG is the most stubborn coach alive, and the Rockets would be better without him.

I thought Steve and Rudy would be a Rockets for life.

I stated that JVG would NEVER try to use Cato as a power forward (as many on this bbs had suggested) because he would so *OBVIOUSLY* fail at that position.

I never said this on the BBS, but when the Rockets fired Chaney in the early 90's and hired Rudy I said at the time it was a cop out. They didn't go for Pat Riley or Larry Brown or any "name" coach, they just cheaped out and grabbed some scrub assistant off the current roster. You know I still think that's true...that's all those cheap bastards did, it just happened to work out great. Good thing I wasn't runing things. I was really pissed at the time!

Well, I was an idiot in Nov 2003 when I predicted the Rockets would trade Steve and Cat to Orlando for T-Mac, and then...

    Oh, wait a sec...my bad;) :p

    - I thought the trade for Eddie on draft day was a steal, because Richard Jefferson would never do anything in the NBA.

It was crazy arguing with people that the Rockets would win it all during the regular seasons of 94 & 95. Sometimes crazy can be right though, then not look so crazy in hindsight.

    * that the Pippen trade was just as huge as the Drexler trade and would lead us to more championships ... loved Rocket's management for making that type of trade.
    * that TMo would be our future starting 3 for years to come
    * that we needed to trade Kenny Thomas, because he'd never fit in the West, and we needed to get something of value for him as a pick for rebuilding.
    * hesitating to trade Drew
    * saying Kandi would be good to trade for, and that LAC would trade Brand for draft picks ...
    * glad we got Mark Jackson
    * in 2002, suggesting we trade the # 1 pick to LAC for #8/12 and Odom, and taking Stoudamire/Butler and not taking Ming.
    * stating we shouldn't take Boozer, because he was a MoTaylor clone, which I'd read on nbadraft.net.
    * in 2001, after suggesting we pick Jefferson, Randolph, and one of Gerald Wallace, Jamaal Tinsley or Gilbert Arenas ... then high as a kite that we got the "steal of the draft" in Griffin, and that 1 great player would be better than 3 good ones.

Kenny wasnt extended that year by us, and he was playing for contract, which made him a ballhog, shooting whatever he can lay his hands on. I thought the trade for JP was a good move. I still think we should've kept JP.

    Talking about burst Edddie

    We gave up

    Jason Richardson
    Jaron Collins
    and
    Joe Pryzbella (related trade)

But then we probably wouldnt have landed on Yao the following year and hence wouldnt be able to pimp in Tmac.

Now do you like this squd over this current squad

    Francis/Moochie
    Cat/??
    Richardson/Kenny Thomas
    MoT/Collins
    Pryzbella/Cato

Trading SF, Cat and Cato was too high a price to pay for T-Mac. All the T-Mac haters better come clean in this thread.

Don't forget we got J Ho as well, who is at least as worthy a player as Cat was, if not more so (since he is a big man, which are naturally more valuable than guards).

Tinman and Willis should mention their argument about Juwan being easily replaced by Chubbyspoon or Padgett.
Tinman may have been right about Sura, but he was dead wrong about Juwan.

You are talking about Richard Jefferson right? Not Jason Richardson...

And I want to see someone admit that they were wrong that Yao would be a bust, but YOH will probably wait until he retires before they admit to that.

    1) Michael Dickerson shouldn't have been given up just to get Steve Francis.
    2) The Rockets wouldn't sniff the playoffs this year (fire JVG!)
    3) Cato would be the defensive stopper we needed when Dream left.
    4) Eric Piatkowski signing = SPLASH!
    5) Mark Jackson is slow and worthless....within hearing range of said Mark Jackson...

    1. Ward would be a decent PG this year & Sura was not the solution at PG.

    2. The Rockects should trade SF/Cat/Cato/Mo Taylor/Trade Exception for T-Mac/Howard/Grant Hill/filler. Imagine if we got G Hill!

    3. Trade Mo Taylor/Spoon + 3 #1 picks for Baron Davis.
