I would just say that I suggest trading for players when cap space isn't there.

Also suggest playing guys out of position because I thik whoever is filling a particular spot is stinking it up.

HERE'S ONE: MoTay would grab 9-10 rebounds a game as a starter!

Like 90% of the others here...

I felt for sure that Eddie would be the guy to hold down the 4 longterm...

and that Boki would be a stud for us if he just got the consistent playing time.

oh well..Im still right more often than I am wrong

    Good thread idea.

Back when I was kind of a novice in terms of understanding how Contracts work in the NBA and didnt really know too much about Free Agency I thought the summer when Taylor, Moochie and Anderson were FAs...I thought damn, we are in trouble, we might lose them. And then we re-signed them and I was really happy. Little did I realize how easily they could have been replaced.

I advocated trading that #1 pick and getting Lamar Odom and others in a large-scale trade.

Nothing against Yao at the time; I just thought we could cash in that pick and really solidify our team.

I'm glad that we got Yao.

    me too -

I think a lot of people remember Cat from his first years in the league when Rudy T ran ISO plays all game long... no body thought Cat could be effective in the flow of the game - I guess the Kings would beg to differ on that assesment

Calling for CD's head (although the jury's still out on that one).

But I've been right on everything else (pat self on back).

#1 Eddie Griffin could be as good if not better than Kevin Garnett

#2 Trade Kenny Thomas to clear more playing time for Eddie Griffin

#3 Eddie Griffin should have been on the all star team

#4 We should lock up Eddie Griffin as soon as we can

#5 Eddie Griffin has hall of fame potential

Thanks Eddie! But I'm not bitter!

I said that Moochie Norris was one of the best backup PG's in the league and could start for some teams. I think Kenny Smith repeated those sentiments during a TNT telecast.

    Wow, was I was wrong.

Most of the craziest things I had are during draft days.
1: Yao Ming is NOT better than Wang Zhizhi, since Wang outplayed him back to the days they were in China.
2: Eddie Griffin is going to be like Odom or Garnett.

    1. Mo Taylor will have us set at the 4.

    2. Charlie Ward will be good for us (though I maintain he was fine until he got hurt and started playing hurt)

    3. Glen Rice would return to a scoring/post-up form with us.

    4. Bryce Drew was a solid pick as a backup PG.

    5. Othella would be a starting PF in the league before long (his D just never caught up to that jumphook)

    6. Pippen was a solid signing as a point forward with D.

    7. Shandon Anderson would be a perfect fit.

I think I've been right more than wrong. But man have I been wrong

When it was first reported that Eddie Griffin was caught using his Girlfriend as Target practice I 'supposed' it was JVG leaving the scene with a smoking gun. Boy did I distrub some with that comment. :p

That even though I had hated Pippen for a long time, I would have to learn to like him since he was a Rocket.

    1. I laughed at Seattle for wanting to trade Lewis for Griffin.

    2. I thought Boki would be the future of our 3 spot.

    3. I thought Cato would never amount to anything useful.

    4. I thought (during Yao's rookie year) we would be contending for the championship THIS YEAR with the starting lineup of Yao, Griffin, Boki, Cat, and Steve.

LOL, I'm glad I didn't make that mistake. I considered quitting being a Rockets fan before liking Pippin.

The night I felt like we stole NJ blind by trading for E. Griffin.
I thought Boki was our starting SF of the future.

I reckon I fall alongside all those that thought Griffin and Nachbar were the 3 and 4 of the future. Nuff said on the Eddie Griffin Experience, but I admit I was sucked in by Boki shooting the lights out in that workout in Houston. And by the "Boki didn't start in Europe because Euro teams always bench young players and play vets."
