I hit zero traffic to work every day (M-F typical 9-6). Off chances there is traffic, it's 35mph driving traffic, but really that happens so rarely. Weather's incomparable really...the worst weather I've had in one day in SD is probably low of 45, high of 60 or so. Again, a rarity. Year round is about lo55, hi72 ish.

Cost of living is higher here, but I pay $612.50/month in rent in a really fun area with lots of nice bars and restaurants. Cheaper than my rent I paid in college at UT Austin. However, if you were looking to buy, then yeah...good luck with that. State tax does suck ass though. But LA is only 2 hours away, Vegas only 4.5 hours away, snowboarding is only 2 hours away, beaches about 10 minutes away all driving. I've surfed and snowboarded in the same day before. Pretty overkill lol, but it's cool to say that I've done that now I guess.

I don't agree about the no culture/hick comments though, just wanted to get the point across that lots of the negatives you guys mention about Cali are actually not that negative. I'm still a die hard Texan till the day I die though. All my friends here get so tired of how much I talk about the Rockets, Texans, Longhorns, and how awesome Austin is lol.

But to keep the thread on topic, above shows reasons why there may not be too much of an appeal to play for the Rockets :(
