This will never gonna happen, unless JVG wants to recruit some fresh men in his 30-year-old veteran club.

I wouldnt mind seeing this roster

    PG: Alston / Head / Sura /{2nd round pick}
SG: Childress / Bogans / Vspan
    SF: McGrady / {Jumaine Jones or Rasual Butler (MLE)}
PF: Howard / Swift / Hayes
    C: Yao / Mutombo

    • Trade Rockets 1st round pick (~#10) to Atlanta for Josh Childress.
    • Bring over Vspan.
    • Sign Jumaine Jones or Rasual Butler with 3/4 of our MLE. Both are very good 3pt shooters, something we need. And both are young and athletic. The bonus of Jones is that he can swing to the PF spot on a "quick" lineup which could be interesting. Changing gears, another good candidate to pursue is Speedy Claxton for the backup PG spot.

i think they should draft a PF in their first pick (SHelden,Noah or Thomas) then trade swift or anyone for a sg (redick) in the draft. So it's two for one!

What we would like to see and what we will end up with are two different ball games. Even though rach one of us believes that we know whats best for the Rockets. So I am suggesting first what I would like and secondly what I think will happen:-
    My choices
    Cassell, Alston, V Span
    R.Butler ,Bogans,Frahm
    McGrady, Childres
    JOSH SMITH(Atlanta)
    Lampe
Yao Ming, NEW Back up Center

    Rockets Choices
    Alston AN other
    Bogans & Wesley
    Mc Grady An OTHER
    Howard Bowan Swift
    Yao Ming, Mutombo

Why would we not have our leader and star player on our team next year?
I would love to know your reasons for us not having Yao Ming at Center?

Not going to happen. We just resigned Bowen for big money... no way he sits behind McGrady with that kind of support from management and JVG. Besides, TMac will be a great sparkplug coming off the bench... he'll be the new and improved Vinnie Johnson.

    Don't resign Wesley

Sura's career is probably over. Do a buyout of his contract.

    Trade Juwan to anybody

Also, deal the draft pick for a proven NBA player that's young if possible

Go after Jamal Crawford, Sam Cassell, Vladamir Radmanovich, or Hedo Turkoglu

    Resign Hayes and Bogans

    PG: Alston, VSpan
SG: Bring in a free agent or trade for somebody, Head
    SF: Tmac, Bogans
    PF: Swift, Hayes
    C: Yao, Deke

Swift should start because he plays well with Yao and the +/- #s indicate that.

Honestly, do you really think before you post?

If we offer Yao to the Kings, they would give us Ron Artest plus Brad Miller and take some of our bloated contracts too. If we offer the Pistons Yao for Ben Wallace, they would at least give us Rip or Rasheed Wallace to sweeten the deal. But I am sure we will get even better deals somewhere else because all the other 29 teams would call and join the bidding war if Yao is on the market.

If you still do not know, we expect better quality of posts on clutchfans.net here.

    Oh, you mean like:

    PG: Alston
    SG: Wesley
SF: Lamar Odom/Mike Dunleavy if possible
    PF: Juwan Howard
C: Chris Mihm/Adonal Foyle if possible

    :D

You've gotta love our chances ;)

That's our team right now. With or without a healthy McGrady, we need a starter that can bury the open jumper. Sure, a Matt Bullard off the bench would be nice, but we don't shooting in the starting line-up. Bogans can't hit water from a boat, and neither Head nor Wesley can get the job done right now. If this is the line-up for next year, we're ****ed.

we will start the offseason with:

    yao-deke
    jho-stro
    tmac-bowen
    head
    alston-sura

with the 10th pick i think we reach down a little and draft JJ Redick. not sure about the second round pick.

in free agency i think we go after more shooting jumaine jones and Vspan would be great (portion of the MLE will be used to buy out vspans contract).

by the end of the summer we could have this roster:

    yao-deke
    jho-stro
    tmac-jones-bowen
    redick-head
    alston-vspan-sura

with 3 spots left it all comes down to preseason. i think hayes will be braught back, our second round pick probably makes the team, and probably lampe is braught back considering his size and age.

From to-days game versus the LA Lakers I would say that among the active Rockets there isn't anybody other than Yao Ming who is good enough to be in a starting role next season- which would of course require major rebuilding.

We are absolutely f*cked. Like I said, this is the team I think will be here next season, not who I want. I think the core of the team stays and the extra people don't. Simple as that. I want to see the Rockets draft someone good. I want to see the Rockets get rid of a few of the players on the roster and some how replace them with younger players. I just don't see it happening though.

Someone suggested (not on this board) that the Rockets should trade their #1 pick for a player this season. Why? Because the the Rockets would be trying to get a player who's already made a name for himself while not having to worry about the draft and utilizing the talent (which the Rockets' coach JVG sucks at doing).

I don't think it would be a smart move, but it's a different way to look at it.

Like I said, without T-Mac, we're not going to win very many games, period. But at least we could see some smarter play. If Rafer does not play smarter in the clutch, or in general, he needs to go. Bogans just isn't a starting SG calibre player. Juwan Howard has his weaknesses that are magnified with good coaching.

We just don't have the supporting talent to be a championship team. T-Mac and Yao alone won't get us to a championship, I think...

Uh oh... I just thought of something.

In the beginning of the season before the injuries, CD/JVG didn't expect Luther Head to get any playing time at all this season...

So there's probably a chance this 1st round pick is going to be on the bench for at least the first half of the season... I have a gut feeling we'll sign/ or trade for a veteran SG now. Or even worst bring Wesley back. I don't think there's a good chance Luther Head starts next season, and surely the 1st round draft pick won't start. It has to be a vet.
