If we trade for Sessions, do we have any rights to him after this season? What's the point in acquiring a young player if he's just going to walk away anyways?
If that happened no way in hell sessions would be third string... he would be a back up SG or starting PG
Yeah and then they wouldn't have anyone at point guard on a team with Bosh and Marion that was made for running, makes less then no sense. Calderon isn't going anywhere unless someone gives up a bona-fide star who isn't on the downslope, ie. no one we have. I really like Caron Butler, Rip Hamilton, and Baron Davis as far as players who might actually have a chance of being moved. If we got Butler I think we'd still have some moves to make in the backcourt.
While that would be awesome for us, they already have Bargnani (a #1 pick which matters for pride reasons) to play SF and the potential upgrade to Artest, moving Bargnani to come off the bench, is not worth losing Calderon.
The only way we can have a BIG trade is if Yao is involved. Otherwise it's small potato for a role player.
Yea I meant that rafer would also get traded. I just said artest for calderon because they are the two main players. Maybe artest, rafer for calderon kopono? They get a point guard in alston who i'm sure would love to run more than he does over here.
wow, didn't know that. calderon was a hot topic here way back when. how's his contract? can't be a large one, i guess? i'd take the deal, though.
It has got to be Mike Miller. He's wasting away in Minny and he'll give the Rockets a legit scoring option.
No, they could start Bargnani at power forward, marion at the small forward, bosh at center, and alston as the point guard. Then bring artest off the bench. You gotta admit, thats a pretty sick lineup. And then they can save money next year if it doesnt work out.
we better be getting an upgrade in pg. -anything else would just be a (+) -getting a pg, however, gets rid a (-) *alston* who is hurting this team tremendously and replaces it with a plus a (+) *upgraded pg*
To add to my other post, once you have Sessions established as a solid PG, you can move Alston in the offseason....perhaps for something like this: Alston + Hayes + Wafer for Jamison or Caron Butler... Washington gets out of paying Jamison $9 million/per for the next 4 yrs and we get a replacement for Grady. Sessions, Brooks Tmac, Barry, Bell Jamison or Butler, Villanueva Scola, Landry Yao, Mutombo, Dorsey
I hope Raptor fans don't read this board. They would laugh at us. The chance of them even considering a Calderon trade with any team is non-existent.
Ron artest only makes 8 million so I guess getting a 8 million guy is a trade that will make everyone happy. A trade that makes everyone happy in my opinion that kind of trade gets you Kobe, lebron, Wade, Dwight Howard, types of guys. That is the Big trade I was mentioning and you need to trade Yao to get one of those guys.
McGrady ($20M) for Miller ($9M) + Cardinal ($6.3M) + Gomes ($3.5M)? Daryl Morey: http://www.intelligententerprise.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=181503118
The Rockets will not be getting a PG. Any significant trade will involve Artest. With T-Mac possibly missing significant time, what's a PG going to do in this lineup? Who's going to pick up the slack in scoring? Shane? I believe it's either Mike Miller or Caron Butler.
