If they don't want to go over the LT and want Landry since he has 2 more years to go after this one at a relatively cheaper price,I could see them trading CV for him.I don't see them giving up Sessions with the way he is playing. Sessions does have one big weakness though, and that is his poor 3 point shooting. Will he fit in with the Rockets because of that?
rafer would have to be shipped somewhere too....rafer and brooks both need minutes if they are on the roster. who needs a pg?
you miss the point.. it's about us being able to move Tracy.. without being completely fleeced for the privilege.. Marcus Camby would do wonders for this team.. he's essential one of the best if not the best weakside blocker in the league.. do you realize how long we've wanted such a PF alongside Yao..? Baron Davis being healthy would be an unexpected plus..
then again.. I had no idea his contract ran at $50mil.. that wouldn't help us on having the best chance possible to re-sign Artest.. so chalk up my error to my over-eagerness..
Seriously have any of you ever watched Camby play? For a big man he never ever takes shots in the paints unless it's a layup or dunk off an offensive rebound. All Camby does is takes jumpshots, BUT THE MAN CAN'T SHOOT WORTH A LICK!. Then Baron Davis has one of the worst contracts,he is also injury prone but yet you want to trade him for T-mac. Horrible trade for Houston just horrible.
as I said.. my focus wasn't on Baron Davis.. and already admitted my error based on his contract situation..
What's Solomon hearing? If nothing happens in the next few days, I'd say voices. Oh, and crickets in his future Chron blogs.
I think Sessions will fit in really well. We need someone who is not just a standaround 3 point shooter... Sessions can penetrate and hit those mid range jumpers..
The rockets need to clear up cap room for 2010 free agency. This means we need to keep Yao happy, let Artest walk. The only way to trade Artest is to get an expiring contract. Why take on a mediocre player who has multiple years left on their contract, doesnt make any sense. People forget that all we gave up for Artest was Bobby Jackson a washed up point guard. Even if they lose Artest its not the end of the world. The rockets need to leave cap room to sign Yao and Dwayne Wade in 2010. Keep the nucleus of role players Wafer, Brooks, and Scola. The only player I think is expendable is Shane Battier and Landy, maybe we can trade them for a viable point guard. It was a nice try on Moreys part to bring in Artest, but sometimes things just don't work. Theres alwaye next year!
Amen I see Wade staying in Miami and Bron staying in Cleveland. That leaves us with Bosh, who a lot of teams will also be bidding for.
I think clearing cap room for 2010 is overrated. Morey just needs to continue signing players to reasonable contracts, making smart draft choices and evaluating who fits in with our roster. That might mean signing a big free agent in 2010, but if instead opts to trade T-Mac's expiring next year for something better, or signing a big talent this offseason, that's fine by me.
Sounds like you all need to get a room!! Seriously, I have been hammering for the Rockets to get both Sessions and Seflosha for sometime now. These are the type of players the Rockets need to target. Players that are on the rise; T. Outlaw, Channing Frye, players that has been in the league over 2+yrs and athletic
In 2010 the one guy we all should be hoping for is Joe Johnson! That is the one guy that we really have a shot at. In 2010 Scola should be playing even better ball, and Landry should finally be playing some solid defense. With Yao resigned and us letting T-VAG go we are really gonna need a perimeter player that can score all day. He is by far the most realistic player for us.
If T-Mac is done, I don't think we can afford to trade Artest... unless we trade him for another star swingman.
