Hmmm, now that's interesting! I just tried Baron for Skip + Artest on the trade machine and that works, who here wouldn't do that? Definite all-star and 3rd scorer... That fits with the theme about a star player that hasn't been discussed much and that everyone should be happy about getting in a trade (especially if that includes trading away Skip in the process).
But where does baron fit in our offense? Does he take Rafer's spot or does T-mac move to the 3 spot in place of Ron? I'm not sure how this would work or make sense. I'm hoping for Amare at this point, or Mike Miller if the price is right. Actually, I'd be fine with Artest staying too, but it looks like Morey sees things otherwise.
What if it was Baron for T-mac? Clippers might do it just to get out of the long commitment contract.
Baron Davis trade makes a lot more sense than Amare rumour. We all know the PG position is Rocket's weakest link.
True, but why does everything have to be for the short term? I say let's find a long-term solution, especially in the West at the PG spot. A player like Baron is worth $11-$12M a year, and he has 4 1/2 years left on his current deal. 2010 would still be wide open for us...
Yeah, I don't know about taking on a player with past injury problems for another 4 and a half years.
Now that I actually wouldn't do. T-Mac's expiring contract is worth much more than Baron Davis, or any package of Clippers you'd like to stick with Yao IMO.
i wouldnt mind baron except the dude is a straight up chucker. he is also a marginal shooter who has injury problems on the downside of his career that gambles way too much on defense.
That's what I'm saying, I think a Clippers package of players with BDiddy as the centerpiece for an expiring $23M contract in 2010 is to the Clippers advantage, not ours.
Why has Baron Davis sucked so much this year? He's shooting a lower percentage than Rafer for godsakes! If he's declined as precipitously as much as Kneemac this season then no to Baron.
True, but he played in all 82 games last year and averaged 22/5/8, not bad even though his averages are down this year, could have something to do with being a Clipper, who knows... He also just had a 20 assist game before the all-star break.
Rather have Camby because: 1. His contract expires after this season 2. He's not injured There's no way I would take on Baron's 4 years and then Kaman's 3 years
