Ok I misinterpreted it. Gay might be it since a lot of people love him here and wish we would've kept him and the Grizz are going nowhere soon. There's also rumors that Mayo and Gay don't compliment each other well and they could use Artest's expiring to net a player this offseason. Just throwing out names based on the clues given. I highly doubt this would happen but this is just for speculation.
I agree with you about Nash's shooting, durvasa. I think Calderon has a reasonable shot at pulling off the 50/45/90 at least once over the next few seasons. He's at 49/44/98 right now playing almost 35 mpg over 41 games this season.
Is there any chance for that Nash goes to the raptors, and Calderon goes to the rockets, and Artest and Brooks go to the Suns???
I do think we need to make a move to invigorate our team and Yao isn't getting any younger, but I don't want to mortgage our entire future on another aging star.
TMac may be fool's gold but his contract is a goldmine. How hard is it to understand? The same ones saying trade TMac are the same ones who were calling for JVG's head year in and year out, calling for Brooks to takeover the starting PG reigns every time Skip has a bad game, keep Artest, etc etc etc
Gay is not in anyway an upgrade over artest. He plays no defense and hes the ultimate "ball stopper".
Dirk? Stuckey? Take a look at the list and you can't tell me with cap space, the Rockets can't snag one or two FA's
i didn't include him in any of the trade scenarios i've listed throughout the thread b/c he's expiring, as well. unfortunately, we'd probably have less chance of re-signing him than Artest.
why would he choose houston while he can - get more money re-signing with the hawks; continue to be the #1 guy on the team; and still enjoy allstar honors and playoff contention in the east. and why would hawks let go of him? what would they have left? a team built around josh smith?
Here is my problem with trading for Sheed. This teams biggest problem is playing down to competition and not being motivated at times. One of Sheed's biggest problem has been not motivated at times.
And you're just another person who has bought into the hype of 2010. We have 0% chance at LeBron. Wade will most likely stay in Miami. Bosh is the most reasonable possibility of the big 3 or 4 in that FA class but their will be several other teams also bidding for him. He won't come play for Houston just because he's from Texas. And isn't he from closer to Dallas anyways? Sure, there are several other big names in that class but many of those other guys will be in their 30s at that point and will no longer be even as good as the version of McGrady we got back in '04. I also don't think Yao is nearly as impressive to outsiders any longer. And don't forget, we have another year and a half to go before the 2010 sweepstakes. Based on Yao's size, age and injury history, who knows what will happen between now and then. There is a very good chance we get nothing special in 2010 and it may be wiser to make decisions based on that fact, as Morey stated in a recent interview, instead of getting caught up in the hype.
ah.. this is gettin confusing... guys.. can each one of you sum up your best ( not crazy) trade scenarios and come up with whom we can get? .. atleast that way we can get a list of players who might end up in houston..
Think of it this way guys....If scola goes, we have to get a PF back with some size. I think bosh is our guy.
Not every team will be able to resign their players as not every team will have a ton of capspace. As we stand, the Rockets will have a ton of capspace come '10. The list is huge. The Rockets will be able to snag one or two
