    Sheed + Rip for Tmac

AI = 20 mil off this year
Tmac = 20 mil off next year

Pistons can rebuild with a superstar signing in 2010 and guys like stucky, prince and maxeill will just get better.

I can almost guarantee it's not anything big. Sounds to me like one Luther Head should be packing his bags.

Same here TMac has had his chances to get things right here in H-Town. TMac experiment should end this season, why the hell go through the drama for another season.

People have to understand which team out there is going to muster up 20M worth of contracts to match up to trade FOR a broken down TMac?

And if you say maybe other teams just want his expiring contract, why would WE give up that asset to benefit some other team?

Nobody anticipated Mac breaking down like this. But at this point of the game, the Rockets are better off holding onto his contract.

People act as if the Rockets are in contention or something this year and by trading TMac we're suddenly contenders or something

If the Rockets don't make any significant moves, fair or not, Solomon will get flamed for getting the fanbase all excited. There is no point in making a comment like he did if you can't talk about it and it's unlikely to happen.

Superstars do not flock to Detroit as FAs if they have offers elsewhere.

BTW - was Soloman blowing smoke of does he actually have info to mine? I s'pect the gentleman is laffing his arse off at this Thread.

    My guess list would be:

    Deng
    Dunleavy
    G. Wallace
    B. Gordon
    A.I.
    R. Jefferson
    Turkoglu
    Calderon
    Arenas
    Crawford
    M. Miller

Nash plays better when he plays with guys that need him to score. Eventhough he was good in dallas, he has played better in phoenix. Reason is Dallas had guys that could get their own shot. Dirk, jamison, walker, finley, stackhouse. In phoenix, he had play finishers like amare, marion, richardson and to a extent johnson. Well now in phoenix, he has shaq and j rich, 2 guys that don't really need him. If he comes to houston, he swill have 2 guys, tracy and yao, that can get their own shot without him. So when you take the ball out his hands and turn him into a spot up shooter, its a waste of his talent. Kinda like how rafer plas better with tracy because now he's playing pg. Now this can be solved by trading tracy and gettibg a more traditional play finisher like jefferson or maggette.

So, why do you want to keep him here?

Why trade for an aging AI for example, when, after next year and TMac's number is off the books, the Rockets can throw money at a Joe Johnson and lock him up long term?

Some people only see what's in front of them as opposed to the bigger picture

No. If you really like him, you should hope him go to a place where he can play a very important role.

if you can take a big contract off your books this summer, what wait for the next?

2010, which yao could be part of, is likely fool's gold to most teams. we'd be better off start thinking how to max out yao's remaining good years and keep him here.

if we think it's better to hold onto mcgrady's contract so we could muster a big trade after this year, what makes you think other teams with a 2010 expiring couldn't do the same one year sooner than their star's contract actually expires - if they get a clear signal that player won't re-sign?

    Was that a typo, leebigez?

It always seemed to me like Rafer plays far better without McGrady.
