I hope Morey knows what type of players fit our team and system better than some of the people in this thread. I think Artest gets us closer to a championship than any of the proposed trade targets in this thread. I think many people on this board will eat crow in the 2nd half on Artest once you see what a healthy Ron Artest brings in leadership, clutchness, and defense.
well aslong as we're dreaming.. out of all the "marquee" names.. thrown out in this rumor.. Bosh comes out as the more appealing player.. as far as our team goes.. I have my doubts on Nash and Stoudemire on this team.. as far as borderline players.. such as Maggette.. whom Dadakota seems to constantly fawn over.. I simply don't see it.. frankly.. if there were any legs to this rumor.. I'd rather it end with the purpose of relieving this team of Tracy.. even if it takes including Landry in the deal.. pending it's done wisely.. instead of it just being nothing more than head-shaking lateral move based on doubts of Artest's situation next year.. when we have more pertinent things to worry about right now..
TMac's contract is an asset at this point. While other teams are trading half their rosters to get under the cap for '10, the Rockets have a 20M lottery ticket they can cash in after next season. Morey is a numbers guy and knows this. Keep Mac let his number come off and try to entice one of the big time FA's to team up alongside Yao. Everything Morey has done up to this point is to have cap flexibility for '10. That's why a guy like VC will not be heading here
So what... Didnt Chauncey get shipped out right after he signed a big contract? They have Nick Young who they want to develop, Javaris Crittenton, Andray Blache, Javale McGee... MY POINT is you know nothing about Wizards basketball. If there is ONE person that the Wizards aren't planning of losing, its Caron Butler.
Rafer Alston and Shane Battier for Andre Miller works. And we free up a lot of money to retool the roster in the offseason.
I can understand why Nash and Barbosa are untouchable but why is Grant Hill on that list? I'm not implying that you are wrong, but I want to know the reasoning behind it.
With Yoa Ming we play a strong half court game. Remember Nash is not a great half court Point Guard he is a great fast break Point Guard and he is getting old.
I'm sure some GMs believe McGrady will recover. Even if he doesn't, he's still a big-name attraction whose contract comes off the books in 2010.
That works as well. I don't know .. I think Philly would want more than Rafer and an expiring contract in return for Miller. With Battier, they get a quality role player for a couple more seasons. They may see more value in that. Or maybe they prefer to just let the money come off the books.
I agree. He has repeatedly said that he's looking for good players and good contracts. He is always looking towards the future. Carters contract is horrible. I dont see us making that big of a comitment to a player who doesnt guarantee us anything. If we do acquire a big name, itll be someone who has an expiring deal either this year or next or a proven winner.
No GA it's practically Butler's team and how are the Wizards this year? GA is untouchable at this point because of his huge contract and injury woes. Nobody said Billups was untouchable. Nobody said AI is untouchable. People thought 6 months ago Amare was untouchable. My POINT was Caron is not untouchable. Whether thr Wizards want to trade him or not, that's another question. There's few untouchable players in the league period, and Caron is NOT one of em.
I'm not sure. But there was an article saying that management made it known to teams that All 3 were untouchable.
