GA is their franchise player. Butler is not. I guarantee you he will not be a Wizard once his contract is up. There's a difference between being a franchise player and your team's best player. I'm not saying he's gonna get traded to the Rockets, all I'm saying he's not untouchable.
Amen.. i really think Mac is on his way out... and winds of change implies we are definitely getting a superstar or a pseudo-super star.. gotta chk for salary figures and guess.. JCF said this too... "call it a hunch. hearing lots of things. then again, it is that time of year...going to be a very fun week! "
LOL, ok.... Just like how Steve Francis is the Houston Rocket's franchise player. Bro, you're stuck in like 2006. Arenas is a talented player, but in terms of popularity, Caron is far ahead in Washington. Like I said, I've been watching the Wizards for a while.... TMac dropping 62 on the Wiz is why I'm such a huge TMac fan. You really can't talk to me about the Wizards and sound intelligent.
In the blog he said "the trade would make most of us happy" That trade wouldn't make us happy. I think T-mac is being traded, because at the end he said the trade would make a lot of people happy.
0 percent chance of Mac getting traded. He's damaged goods. Which team is going to take a chance on him? Plus Morey knows one more year and his monster number comes off the books. Monster number. 20M in one fell swoop
I don't know why people are throwing Nash name out there. Him, Barbosa, and Grant Hill are all untouchable.
Are the Rockets even allowed to trade Landry? The ESPN trade machine says there's a trade restriction for him -- we can't trade him this year without his consent. I was thinking we could maybe package him and McGrady for David Lee and Marbury. You know, if we were really wanting to just rid ourselves of T-Mac. But I guess that's not possible.
I of course think Caron is better than GA. The POINT is they're paying GA 100M. He's the franchise. You really think they're going to break the bank for Caron when his contract is up? You really think Wash management is happy shelling out all this dough and getting no W's as a result? You're blinded by fandom if you think Caron is untouchable. There's very few untouchable players in the league and Caron is not one of em. Sorry.
I think the Sixers could beat anybody other than the Celtics or Cavs in the 1st round and I don't think this article favors your argument at all. It suggests a totally different thought process regarding whether or not to trade Miller. What is written in that article clearly states that if Stefanski thinks the Sixers can win a playoff series, he will hold onto Miller and worry about resigning him later, even if that is risky and it isn't a certainty he will resign. Of course the Sixers' bigger picture is building for long-term success but I just didn't think Stefanski's reasoning for moving Miller before the deadline was strictly based on whether or not they think they can resign him which was your original statement. According to this particular article, I was right. The decision will be based on if Stefanski thinks they can win a playoff series and get some postseason experience even if that means getting nothing for Miller. Considering they are in 6th place right now, half a game out of 5th, I don't think it is clear that they have thrown in the towel on this season. Holding onto Miller gives them the best chance at finishing in 4th or 5th place as well as winning at least one playoff series. I also don't think Orlando is nearly as scary anymore with Nelson out for the season and the Sixers seem to be playing much better without Brand anyways. I'd say Philly has a good chance in the 1st round if they finish anywhere from 4th to 6th.
