am i gonna still be a rockets fan if we get the mini karl malone? i'm not sure about that. and solomon was certainly lying when he said all will be happy.
Why would we trade for Boozer, when he could just opt out of his contract anyways? And is he even going to play this year?
Caron is a stud but it's not far fetched to think he could be traded. Trading him for Artest + Head gives the Wizards instant cap relief, considering they have Arenas on the books for 100M with him not yet even playing a game yet. Plus, Jamison + Arenas is a better fit than Butler + Arenas whenever GA comes back, and if they did decide to trade either Butler or Jamison. Butler is definitely the first to go.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like the Jazz... but Andre Miller isn't a fit. He is a transition type guard that loves to throw lobs. If you think I'm wrong... review Andre Miller's career and check what systems he has been the most effective. The only thing Andre can give us is marginally better perimeter defense but it would be at the expense of our offense. Right now, we can hurt our offense anymore. As for Boozer, assuming he's good for the rest of the season, he would put us over the top in terms of rebounds and help to really space the floor. He has the ability to shoot very effectively from the elbow and can help create lanes in the paint for our guards and help Yao get some breathing room.
I can see it now, Rockets Trade Ron Artest and Luther Head for Bobby Jackson and Donte Green and a future 2nd rounder
They wont take Landry. Landry is a rotation player at best, Scola is a starter and they would need one in exchange for Jamison. And trust me, you dont want Haywood. If you thought Stromile was bad... imagine Stromile with a rage problem who often picks fights with his team mates... and wins.
the most creative idea in this thread. 2 thumbs up! (costco has a 90-day return warranty on all electronics, incl. computers and flat hdtv's.)
just read this.......seems interesting if they would send Nachbar over.............. If Carter is dealt, he'll probably want to invest in a 10-gallon hat -- if he does not go to San Antonio, he will probably wind up with one of the other two Texas teams. The Mavericks are in the mix, offering Josh Howard and Jerry Stackhouse for Carter and a handful of other players. One source raised an interesting possibility: The Nets still own the rights to forward Bostjan Nachbar, who is averaging 15.4 points per game and shooting 53.3 percent for Dynamo Moscow. His rights could be included in a package. The Rockets -- trying to rescue a disappointing season -- are interested in Carter, too, and would send Ron Artest's expiring contract to New Jersey.
The Rockets are not going to mail it in on this season, everything Morey has been saying indicates that. Plus the fact that McGrady is going nowhere and is expiring in 2010 anyways, so we are in a good enough situation right now where we can afford to do whatever we can to get something memorable out of this season AND -- if it all fails -- go into next season thinking about preparing for 2010 with McGrady off our books. We can do both easily, as long as we don't sucker ourselves into a bad long term contract for an over the hill player. That being said, JCF's reference to "winds of change" or something like that makes me think we will be dealing with the Bulls or Wizards (Obama is from Chicago and is now residing in D.C.). A good move for the future might be getting a Gilbert Arenas or a Kirk Hinrich. So I am calling it: Arenas or Hinrich will be donning a Rocket uniform before the season is out
Caron again is a stud but he is not untouchable. The Wizards stink this year with a healthy Caron, so you can't sit there and say he's untouchable. This considering he has threes years left on his deal and everybody wants a shot at '10
I think the article favours my argument more than yours. With special emphasis on Elton Brand and his season-ending injury...can't you see they are more interested in building for the future?? whats all that talk about Lou Williams and Royal Ivey running the point then if they aren't hints that Miller will be traded more than not. Also with the discussion of how they will handle the PG position through the draft and trades I think it shows more than likely the sixers are preparing for life without Andre Miller. what your saying is they are going into a playoff run so they won't trade Andre Miller...wouldn't someone with logic see this article has also got special discussion about how they are more than likely to face one of the 3 EC powers BOS CLE ORL... so Tell me, do you think the sixers can make it past the 1st round? and so will stefanski, according to his plan...trade Miller?????
heh, I guess... how many years has Brendan Haywood been in the league.. I wouldn't qualify him as a youngster... more like a grown headcase
Look man... Caron Butler is THE BEST that the Wizards have. They're not gonna trade him for Ron Artest, for your sake. They wouldn't even trade him for a combo of TMac and Ron Artest. Trust me on this one.
I know people are going to disafree, but nash is not a good fit with yao. Nash like to handle the ball and setup everyone. Nash is having problems with shaq and shaq isn't as limited as yao. So now we get nash and he's standing around waiting on yao to make a decision with the ball. Nash will struggle, not to mention, he's going to get torched on defense.
