tyson chandler is nowhere near a star. he has no offensive game, and he's not a great shot blocker. he is however an elite one on one defender and rebounder.
@spygrl call it a hunch. hearing lots of things. then again, it is that time of year...going to be a very fun week!
We can't trade the guys you mentioned for a number of reasons. Guys like Head, Hayes will not get back a player that will be a factor. Won't trade Alston because who's going to give you a better PG/player FOR Alston? Plus for all his faults, Alston does a reasonable enough job of RUNNING point. It's his shot that everybody loathes. Nevertheless, love him or hate him, Skip has a reasonable contract which expires after next season. In time for the '10 FA bonanza. Which leaves Artest, the Rockets most tradeable asset. Shane's game is off this year, but he's proven he can fit in this system, on this team. Ron comes aboard and shoots the worst he's ever have in his career. Sure, Ron would be nice come playoff time guarding the opposition, but it's all moot considering the Rockets have forgotten to play TEAM defense as is. See: against the Bucks. Trade Artest while you can while he still has value. Preferably for somebody offensively gifted in the case T-Mac's injury is serious.
ANDRE MILLER! I really really really cant think of anyone else thats fit the mold: 1: Hasn't been the subject of many trade rumors. 2: Make fans happy -- meaning the average fan would even get excited about it....therefore this player HAS to be a starter material. 3: Make fans happy -- therefore must have a reputation already in the league, thus pointing to a seasoned vet who's been making loads of impact and has a reputation in the league for his play. hahahahaha
Why would Philly give him up? They are in the playoff hunt and he has a $10 million expiring contract this season.
if you're trading Artest while keeping Tracy.. you best include another condition.. that being somebody that hasn't a history exhibiting similar behavior as Tracy.. such as Vince Carter..
I think the VC rumors are all smoke. I doubt Morey would tack on his contract to be on the books for another 4 years or whatever it is.
because only ron is an expiring with relatively big $ amount. and he's not played better than an injured battier.
he also mentioned in the morning that Luther Head would likely be involved, too. that means Ron + Landry + Luther. Hoopshype has Ron's expiring contract listed at 8.45M while ESPN's trade machine has it listed at 7.4M. hmm. i've already spent enough time finding combinations. if the salaries aren't even correct, then forget it. i'll just wait for the news.
it is 3 year with a team option for the 4th.....so he would play 2 years and be trade bait as an expiring going into his third.......so he would be here for the same amount of time as yao and tmac
Tmac + Artest for Nash and Staudamire. Let's get all these losers out of here. We need fresh blood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd feel reluctant to trade Landy and Luther for Davis + Artest, you'd have to give me Kaman or Camby too
