Oh they should defintely keep Chuck, and he should get solid rotation minutes. It's just that they should be from the bench unless Scola turns out to be a total bust. Our PF needs to have a midrange game or his man just doubles Yao and clogs the lane. Chuck has been more than we could have hoped for in an undrafted free agent, but I doubt there is a play off team in the league we could match up with where it would be considered advantage Hayes.
I haven't really read through most of this thread, but I don't think people dislike Hayes. It's just that he's questionable starter material. He's fantastic off the bench, though. I LOVE the potential of a Scola/Hayes rotation.
Hayes is a foul machine and does ok against mediocre teams, but will struggle against the good teams with good C/PF.
No one is saying hayes sucks, just that he isn't token material. In the lakers game when hayes fouled out, the lakers commentators said, it's no big loss cause hayes is a token starter anyways.
