I smoked a turkey and a chicken -- used mesquite wood. Wife made an amazing mac & cheese ($50 worth of cheeses!), bacon-wrapped asparagus, carrot soup (app), and homemade bread. For a light dinner I'm grilling a selection of German sausages. Nürnberger, Weisswurst, Knackwurst and a few varieties of mustard. This is in addition to many bottles of wine.
My father did the cooking on his barrel bbq pit using b&b charcoals. It took him 6 Natural Lites to get the job done.
Yeah I know whatever. Breakfast food, don't care. I like it and it's something different for most people.
Didn't get a proper Thanksgiving meal so Turkey, dressing, whipped sweet potatoes, homemade from-scratch rolls, green beans, homemade gravy and Goode Co pecan pie and homemade peppermint cheesecake.
Turkey ,ham dressing mac&cheese broc, rice and cheese and Gumbo and all the adult cold drink one can handle.
I was joking about eating it after noon. I used to order it late when in Germany, and they'd laugh at me. But, if you're getting the authentic stuff, try boiling it, then use that mustard you bought, and a hot pretzel. That part of their tradition, I do prefer. Also, like Mr. Clutch asked, tell us where you got it.
Just wanted to say my Kobe Steak was phenominal, the truffles and caviar were esquisite, and the Golden Opulence Sundae was pure unadulterated decadence! My only complaint was that the Don Perignon was not as chilled as I am acustomed to! ... Spoiler ....... ....... .......
Late to the Party but we had: Turkey legs, ham, black eyed peas, kale salad, squash, cabbage, sweet potatoes, dressing, fresh chopped veggies, pecan pie, sweet potato pie, and homemade chocolate cake. I had the itis to say the least
herb-and-garlic crusted pork loin. Wild rice with roasted cherry tomato relish. Green salad. Nice zinfandel, and instead of dessert:
We had for main dish pork with plum and whiskey sauce. First time trying this sauce and I have to say I personally was not a fan. Then spinach cheese pie, potatoes with thyme and stuffed eggplants. And some traditional sweets for dessert. I will try this year for New Year to make the turkey with the american stuffing that is made of bread to see how it is.
eh, I think there's a reason American stuffing has never caught on globally -- it's really not that good. Turkey can be quite good, however, if done right.
