He's basically shown nothing in the NBA, I don't see why any team would offer a 2nd rounder, unless your name is Kahn.

knowing that rockets is badly needing to sign up a center, teams will play hard-to-get.

Your being way to harsh on the kid, how many actual 2nd rounders contribute on a regular basis. We've be spoiled because Morey has drafted extremely well but 85% of the league either take Euros who might develop such as Scola or take a flyer on a kid to see if they get the next Arenas or Ellis. Teams like the Rox and Spurs have excelled due to their excellent scouting teams.

I like JT. He has talent, and I hope he eventually gets regular minutes on an NBA team. But I don't see why any team would give up for a 2nd rounder when he couldn't crack the Rocket's rotation.

Maybe we are too good of a team to play Taylor?

A team like the Warriors or Timberwolves would likely have him as a 2nd stringer.

We were 42-40 last year. I don't think we're so good that a good player can't get minutes.

Jermaine Taylor is not trash. He is better than half the players drafted last year. He has a skillset like Von Wafer with a little less offense and a little more D and a better attitude to boot. He desreves a shot in this league but with Martin, Lee Lowry and Budinger in front of him that spot is not here. He is worth at least an unconditional second rounder but we might not get it.

I doubt teams will give up much at this point, their rosters are set, and they can see what his issues are at the NBA level.

They might get a "I will scratch your back" deal for him, but I suspect it will be a really bad deal if anyone takes him at all.

I betcha the Celtics will be glad to take him from us since they are going to waive/cut West anyways and thats too bad since he cant taunt Ledouche anymore.

He will be free or maybe a small pot of cash since everyone knows we'll just have to waive him anyway. We have no bargaining position here since we're going to lose him anyway.

What I mean is, the average 2nd-rounder doesn't become a marginal NBA player, which is what JT (plus Von Wafer, actually) is. The D-League aspect is coincidental.

JT is a marginal NBA player who still looks like he has potential. A lot of 2nd-rounders are immediate busts, who maybe go overseas or whatever, but don't make it to the grand level of achievement like JT has done. A 2nd-rounder getting a 2-year contract? That's pretty good, I think.

He really doesn't have much trade value.

Similar deal to Andersen most likely

Jermaine is a really talented offensive scorer... let's face it, team need guys to put the damn ball through the hoop. JT does that. He's also built and becoming a good defender. However the team chose Chase and there is no room to build JT. So it's time to give him up where he can flourish. JT is a Lowry type style IMO and will be at least a solid role player at some point. Mark my words on that. This cat is a steal.
