What's it like being at an NBA game?

My recommendation would be to come to NY in April, the baseball and basketball season overlap then and the weather is starting to warm up. The problem in seeing the Rox is that they only play the Knicks one time a year in NYC, last year it was in January and I hate NYC in the winter.

i went to tmac's 13 pts in 35 secsonds game vs the spurs. The overall feeling was saddened toward the game and people filed out thinking the game was over. Then tmac hit two 3's and the people came back and energy was restored. When he hit that final shot we all went crazy. Jumping around, screaming, nearly falling over the guard rails. Its some exciting stuff

I was fortunate to attend game 7 of our first championship against the Knicks. I sat on the lower level across the aisle from the NBC stage which was built in the stands behind the goal.

The noise was unbelievably deafening and the excitement electric. When Maxwell hit the 3, I started tearing mostly from pure joy, but also from the weight of all the previous frustrations of being a Houston sports fan being lifted.

I saw Dr. J looking around the Summit soaking in the experience. And even better, I noticed Peter Vescey looking rather disappointed. That was classic.

The replays, commentary (sometimes) and price of food and drinks often make home an ideal place to watch a game, but the energy in a close/playoff game can't be matched anywhere like at the arena/stadium.

I went to a midseason game, it was alright. Quiet to start, then at the end it was close so people got more excited. I'd say it has more to do with the opponent than anything else. If the rockets play the Hawks, then who cares. If they're playing the Mavs / Spurs / Heat, then you got something.

Sounds like a plan!even if it isn't the Rockets i'll be happy with Anything, you guys in the states are so lucky-i'd be at every home game! Maybe they should bring the Allstar game to Sydney!, stern wanting to be all global and everything...
