First of all, I know the sky is not falling. I saw it today on my way to work. Second, what I am talking about is in general the whole "recharge your batteries" theory. Yea, Cuttino and Francis play all year round. I understand that. But do you hear about them running two a days? Or practicing 4 hours with some intense coach? Micheal Jordan back in the day had a lot to do. But when Bob Levy asked him one time what he does to relax when he is not doing commercials or working on his game he said "SLEEP and PLAY GOLF. I don't start working out again until 2 months before training camp". I might be wrong. But you just get the impression that Yao is working a little two hard on his commitments. I would like to hear that they guy went to Aruba for at least a month to just get away and focus on recouping. But then again, when I was 23...I hardly slept. And it worked for me. So, I guess I might be overreacting.
IIRC, this was a Chinese coach who said this. If so, I wouldn't put too much weight into what a Chinese basketball coach has to say about weight training.
I thought I heard it was Bob Hill who said that.? Or whatever the name is of the guy that coached the "alleged" NBA Travelling All Stars that Yao played against a few weeks back. and one last thing.. I keep hearing about 2 a days..Have we had a relaible source to back this up? The only thing I have heard is that the have a practice and then he does a session of weight training. Not two sessions of 4 hour practices.. Would appreciate some clarification(with sources) of the amount of practices they do over there.
