yes it is, you haven't been paying attention. everyone (rudy, palin, mccain) etc has talked about it being "executive experience"
This isn't a swipe, TJ. It's reality. It's fact. He stated objective fact. Not subjective swipe. If that's all you have, it's pretty weak.
You realize mccain is running ads comparing her to obama, right? I can understand that... mccain is seriously boring. If i was him, I'd run ads about obama and palin as well.
IMO Obama's experience as a community organizer does not qualify him to be president. IMO Palin's experience as a small town mayor does not qualify her to be president. I think it's a wash. I think Obama's experience in the Senate does qualify him to be president and I think Obama's experience serving on the Foreign Relations Committee and traveling the world to meet leaders is invaluable. The only foriegn affairs experience Palin has is visiting the Alaskan National Guard in Iraq... Palin reminds me of the female GWB except she worked hard to get where she is.
If true, it doesn't really address my main point. What does the Obama campaign stand to gain from questioning her experience when really the best you can hope to argue is that your pres. candidate has a little more experience than the opponent's VP candidate. Just doesn't seem like a wise strategy.
Except that at the same time he was a Community Organizer she was in college. When she was mayor and raking in millions of pork barrel dollars for her town, he was in the Illinois state senate. It's just a line to get the base cheering, but it's a load of BS.
It might be a good strategy, if you can start a debate on who has more experience between your VP and the top of the ticket on the other side, you have already won that battle.
Ahhh. What's wrong with me? His legislative prowess is so .... transparent! Legislation Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discussing the Coburn–Obama Transparency Act Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discussing the Coburn–Obama Transparency Act[54] That's so crucial to the operation and continuation of the United States government. Gosh! BTW, did he write it or just discuss it? Or did he hang his hat on something Tom Coburn wrote so that he could have some legislative background? That's some lie, BigB.
1. The bill was passed in 2006 when Republicans were in control, accordingly the Republican's name goes first. 2. Newsflash: Senators haven't written their own legislation for the last 50-100 years. They are written by staffers, senators then mark it up. That's the way we do things in the "elitist" world. You can rest assured that drafts were circulated and commented upon to both Obama and Coburn's offices.
No really...Not at all. Take everything into account:.... Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, city council from 1992 to 1996, then won two terms as mayor of Wasilla from 1996 to 2002. After an unsuccessful campaign for lieutenant governor of Alaska in 2002, she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 to 2004 while also serving as Ethics Supervisor of the commission. In November 2006, Palin was elected the governor of Alaska, becoming the first woman and youngest person to hold the office. She defeated incumbent Republican governor Frank Murkowski in the Republican primary and former Democratic governor Tony Knowles in the general election, garnering 48.3% of the vote. Take a deep breath now...I know it's a lot, but what it all culminates in is accomplishment...How bout that for change?... FEAR THE PALIN!... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin
I actually love that piece of legislation (I'm a fan of Coburn.) It is a shame that you should make fun of it. The legislation created a website that tracks government spending. You know... to fight earmarking, which your boy loves to fight and your girl just loves. Guess who kept it from being pushed into law? pork girl's favorite pork daddy Stevens! Transparency in the government is a good thing. W helps prove that. stole thisfrom sullivan (I guess I couldn't be lazy like you after all): the last count, sponsorship of 820 laws in Illinois, and authorship of 152 bills and co-sponsorship of 427 in Washington. At her first press conference, why not ask her why she said that Obama has never passed a single reform, when he passed the 2007 Ethics Reform, described by many as the most sweeping package of its kind since Watergate. Of course, she doesn't know. She was given this speech. But she should be asked to respond to the question of why she said something patently untrue to the entire country. Now why are you making fun of community organizers? Stop being petty.
I love how the picture is larger than the list of her accomplishments. Kind of telling. All sizzle, no substance.
http://obama.senate.gov/press/070111-lugar-obama_non/ http://obama.senate.gov/press/060908-senate_passes_c/ So yes, bald-faced LIE.
"Substantially better than?" I just don't see how that case could be made objectively. I could accept "slightly better than" or "similar to," but that's about it.
