Wow, some of y'all have impressive gourmet menus. Do you do this every night? Or did we just happen to catch you on "spend two hours cooking" night? Or did you already have some of that stuff made up?

( --Isabel, who doesn't like to spend more than 10 minutes preparing dinner or even standing in line to go get it)

Last night I made some mexican sausage and eggs mixed with green peppers and onions. Usually something I have for breakfast but after I went jogging thats what I was craving...

You don't like Applebee's? Getting a burger from there with fries will fill you up, or at least it fills me up plus it helps me not to have to spend money on food for tonight (ya, I know that I am a cheapskate:D ).

We got an Applebees here and it was ok, but once Chilis and Bennigans came to town it shut that place down. I never really cared for it.

Applebee's can be OK some of the time... though I usually prefer the other chains. Depends on what you get. (and, actually, I have thrown it up later, though I think I was already sick :) )

Don't understand how you guys skip meals, though. I can eat a big meal and be OK for a long time, but eventually I will want some sort of dinner. I wish I could skip... but it only happens when I'm really, really busy or upset.

Speaking of burgers, my wife and I went to this new Dixie's Classic Diner on I-45 at Dixie Farm Road a few weeks back. This past weekend, we went to the new one they just built south of League City on 45. I swear, that place hasn't been open a month and they're already adding on to it.

Anyway, they don't have the most extensive menu in the world, and the prices are just okay......but man, that was the tastiest burger I've had in a LONG time......at both places!

If ya want a tasty burger in H-town, check out Lankford Grocery in Midtown, near Bagby & West Gray. 1/3 pound handmade burgers. AWESOME!

I don't think I have eaten beef/red meat in 14 years. It never really had to do with ethics or Mad Cow, its just the texture freaked me out for some reason and I really didn't like the taste. I won't eat vegi-burgers because they taste too much like real burgers (or at least what I remember real burgers to taste like...).

What I am curious about, however, is how many single people are actually cooking these elaborate dinners for themselves?? I know for me, by the time I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is work on a meal. Give me salad in a bag or cereal and yogurt every day. I honestly can't think of the last time I actually used my oven for anything other than frozen pizza.

During my first college spring break, I drank a half gallon (minus about four shots) of Southern Comfort in less than two hours. Most of it I drank through a funnel with coke poured on top. All you taste is the coke.

By all rights, I should be dead. I've never been real bright when it comes to booze. The only reason I'm probably not an alcoholic now is that I usually tend to get indigestion before I get drunk. During my more youthful years, I probably got drunk enough to puke on everything you could find in a liquor store, but Southern Comfort is the ONLY thing that to this day......I still can't drink. I can't even eat a piece of cake that has some of it baked into it.

You bet I have, but I don't think the liquor store I was at sold half pints of either. I do like them both, however.
