I'm thinking you don't know enough about these cars to be suggesting one.

The R32-R34 were the poor man's supercars. Aren't the newer Skylines (the 350GT/370GT) just a 350z/370z/G35/G37? I think you can bring the older R's over, but to do it legally (wherever it was allowed) you had to do modify it to meet regulations here.

Depends on the trim about sporty because I burned the base model on the freeway with my mom's Acura SUV once. The higher end gets in to the 30k range so no.

Also VW are only cheap on initial price. Headache to maintain. I would never recommend anyone have a VW unless it was still under warranty. Even then expect to take that thing in at least twice a year after the first couple of years.

I don't know anyone in their right mind who wants to tell you to get an old M3, those things break down quite a bit when they have 50k miles on them. After a 100k on any old german cars, you are playing with fire. German engineering was at its ****tiest in reliability between 1998-2003. So stay away.

Here's a picture of my ride. It's an '06 325Ci. Nothing fancy, but gets decent gas mileage and handles well.

I like the Acura RSX idea.

Or how about a Hyundai Tiburon?

I want an Infiniti G convertible, but it is not cheap. They look sharp and CR says they are "blistering quick."

I don't like what they've done to the shape of the G37. I always disliked the interior - too cheap looking, but the exterior always looked pretty good to me. But in the latest model, they seemed to have softened the coupe's lines up too much. BTW, the 2010 model is going to introduce a few changes to the car although I'm not sure it'll be a wholesale change. You may be able to get an '08 or '09 cheaper then.

My next car: Misubishi Lancer EVO X

Freaking the most bang for bucks machine out there. Cannot beat this anywhere. starting around $32K GSR or $39K for the MR (the one I want).

291 hp with world class handling superior to Lamborghini and Ferrari, Brembo braking system, Recaro racing seats.

Looks gorgeous and drives like a charm. Affordable everyday car that you will enjoy driving on the freeway and switching lanes at the drop of a dime.

    Concur

    Tight suspension.
    Tight turning.
    Tight braking.
    Gas = instant accelration.
    <25k

I don't think there are many options out there at that price point that handle as well + the acceleration. It's a really fun car to drive. You think it ...it does it. Simple as that.

This is one car I recommend to a lot of people who want a balance of everything it's worth every penny based on options and what people want to pay for it.
