I am listening to the voices in my head. (Is this actually a group? If not I can add this to the list off cool band names I have thought of...) In actuality I have some songs from my son's kids CD stuck in my head today . At home I have been listening to the new Ben Folds Live Album. CK

With my son, his happy "Toddler tunes" songs...the same ones he has in daycare. We sing together wherever we go. By myself, I'm not as happy...Metallica-Master of Puppets, Papa Roch-Last Resort, Puddle of Mudd-Blurry, anything loud and mean.

-A late 70's/early 80's powerpop compilation from Rhino. Awesome stuff. -Beachwood Sparks. Kind of like the Byrds in their Sweethearts of the Rodeo phase with some odd psychadelics bits mixed in. -Solomon Burke's new cd, "Don't Give Up On Me." One of the most underrated soul singers ever, in my opinion. Just an amazing singer and he is doing a bunch of songs that people like Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Elvis Costello wrote for him. -New Foo Foo Fighters. I didn't care for their last few singles, so I didn't expect much out of this, but I was pleasently suprised. A little darker sounding than usual. -Rolling Stones, "Between the Buttons." The new SCCD format, even if you don't have the player really makes a difference. This is one of my favorite Stones albums. Full of odd little pop songs which is a rarity for them. -Paul McCartney, "Ram." I only recently discovered this one. Great, great album, despite some dumb lyrics here and there...the perils of post-Beatles Paul, really. -Bob Dylan, "Nashville Skyline" and "Love and Theft." -DJ Shadow presents Schoolhouse Funk. An awesome set of rare funk sides found by DJ Shadow...school talent shows from the '70's...kind of like the Langley Project for funk. Have you ever wanted to hear a funk version of Admiral Halsey/Uncle Albert? No. Probably not, but it is here, anyway.
i was thinking about getting this. how good is it. i havnt listened to the other bands on there except ben harper. should i get it?
I guess you mean SACD. I just got the stone's Singles Collection (the London years) on SACD. I also finally got a tube amp. That combined with my SACD player is pretty bad-ass. I've listening to a LOT more music lately.
MR. MEOWGI, cool name, are The White Stripes any good? I've been listening some to The Vines and wonder if they are similar to that style, also The Hives.
