Keep playing the young guys like we are and let the chips fall where they fall. I don’t mind winning as long as it’s with the youngins. We can always trade Wood in the summertime. We aren’t getting a playoff spot unless teams infront of blatantly tank. Even with the win streak, we’re far away from being .500

Right now aight he current standings the best I can see is climbing is above the trailblazers if they don’t make a run. We’re not better than the Knicks or nuggets. Minny is poised to to try to get a playoff spot so they’ll fight all season unless they suffer a significant injury. same with Sacramento. Indiana is reportedly interested In rebuilding so we might surpass them. Worst case scenario seem to be we can get a #11 pick. I don’t think any of the team currently in the. Playoff and spots will fall below besides maybe one of the the west play-in teams and that’s only if a significant injury happens

Guys who wont be around for the resurgence
Wall: Expecting him to be bought out next season.
Gordon: Needs to be dealt by the deadline for youth and/or draft capital
Wood: I like Wood I just think that his value to the Rockets is as a trade piece moreso than the foundational player his next contract would require.
House: I would move him now for a second round pick
Augustin: Like him on the team for this season but he is definitely not part of the plan. He might be more valuable as a nonguaranteed in the offseason
Theis: Not a bad guy to have around but I am definitely looking to move him
Nwaba: Again, not falling all over myself to get rid of him but I think he has value to other teams that he doesnt here
Tate: This one is the hardest for me. At his contract and what he brings I could see a contender offering a first round pick for Tate, If his shot improves then I think he stays but the Rockets need a marksman from the 3 spot and Tate isnt that right now.
Mathews: I think he gets kept around but I am not sure he is here for the 23-24 season and beyond.

Guys who I think are (or might be) keepers
Green: Even though I have been very much underwhelmed by his performance so far, Green is the Rockets' best chance at a franchise player. I am just sort of hoping he can quickly be on the Zach Lavine level of scorers.
KPJ: I believe in KPJ as having potential to be the second best player on a good team. I think the talent is there to be a 20/6/6 type guy. Needs to improve his shot though.
Sengun: I think Sengun is going to a do it all type in the mold of Domantas Sabonis. Probably not a franchise guy but a solid #2 and a good #3.
Garuba: I think his offensive limitations keep him out of the starting lineup but he ends up a great backup center.
Christopher: If his shooting improves I could see him becoming a lot like EG with a bit better defense. Perfect 3rd guard for this team.
Martin: If his shooting improves then he is a starting 3. If it stays the same then he gets minutes off the bench as a swing forward/energy guy
Brooks: Probably sticks around as a specialist who plays sparingly.

Guys/types I like in the draft
    2022

With their top pick I think the Rockets grab a big. Love Smith and Banchero but they might not end up in position to get either of them. I prefer Baldwin over Duren inside the top half of the lottery. Might go Keegan Murray if the Rockets fall to around 10. With the Miami pick I find myself hoping for Ochai Agbaji out of Kansas. I am hoping the Rockets acquire some SRPs by trading off some of the vets and I would like to load up on shooting (Hyunjung Lee out of Davidson and/or Christian Braun out of Kansas) and add to the size on the bench (Ibou Badji).

    2023
The rebuild having taken shape I think that, starting this draft, the Rockets will just be filling in holes on the roster. I like the idea of going the New England route and trading picks for future picks so that when the day comes that we have decide between our kids who are due extensions the Rockets have the ammo to move up for a replacement.
