    Ming, Mutumbo, Butler
    Scola, Hayes, Landry
    Battier, Harris, Novak
    McGrady, Wells, Snyder
    James, Brooks, Head

I've got to find a way to dump Alston and Sura --> preferably trade them for something a little more substantial in the big man department (easier said than done)

    Yao/Deke/Hayes
    Scola/Hayes/Harris
    T-Mac/Batman/Harris
    Bonzi/James/Luther
    Alston/Brooks/James

    Thats my 12 man Roster

    For my 15 I'd add

    Butler
    Novak
    Snyder

From the way Morey dealt away VSpan, I think it'll be hard to predict what our roster will be like next season. I don't think many people expected us to get Scola for VSpan. Barring any other out-of-the-blue trades Morey pulls out of his hat, I'm hoping for this lineup:

    PG: James/Francis/Brooks
    SG: T-Mac/Head/Snyder
    SF: Battier/Bonzi/Novak
    PF: Scola/Hayes/Landry
    C: Yao/Deke/Butler

If we don't get Francis, Alston would be the backup PG. The PF position could still use some improvement, and if we can trade JLIII, Snyder, Sura's contract, Head and/or Alston for a better one, I'd do it.

Change Francis into Alston, that's pretty much ehat we have right now. Heck, we're loaded at every single position! Maybe more depth at PF/C. Best if we could trade Snyder/Head +Rafer for a reliable PF/C... Scola's still a gamble. We'll see.

That's what I was thinking too, except a few things: No way Francis plays behind james. He'll have a hissy fit. In Adelman's offense, Bonzi always played sg because he was most effective when he could bruise a smaller player. Also, Novak is supposed to be a pf, so I think he would be a change of pace type of guy at that position. This way, T-Mac would take most of the backup sf minutes while bonzi, head or snyder are in, battier would sometimes slide to power forward and sometimes in faster games when yao is out scola can slide down to center.

It says Roxs are after Haslem and Joe Smith.

Rockets: Spanoulis Traded for Butler, Scola

    By Bill Ingram

The Houston Rockets answered the question of Vassilis Spanoulis' future on Thursday night, though they did it in a cryptic way. Jackie Butler doesn't solve any problems for Houston, nor does Luis Scola.

If you've been watching summer league games you know Butler is hardly NBA material. He was a third-string center in New York before being acquired by San Antonio, then he failed to crack their lineup. He's certainly not the answer to the back-up the Rockets need for Yao Ming, as he won't be able to give Houston any more than a handful of minutes. Frankly, they'd be lucky to get a handful.

The 6'9" 230lb. Scola is another story. If the Rockets can make the necessary financial arrangements to lure him away from Argentina (where he plays with San Antonio's Manu Ginobili and Fabricio Oberto and Chicago's Andres Nocioni), he could potentially help fill the gaping hole at the 4 spot. The Spurs were unsuccessful in negotiating with TAU, but they might be a little more receptive now that another year has gone by. Scola is the real deal, and a force in helping Italy win their first Olympic gold medal in 2004.

"We're planning to sign Luis," Rockets GM Daryl Morey told Jonathan Feigen. "He's excited to play in Houston. We expect to see him in a Rockets uniform next year. Luis is very motivated to come to the league and is very motivated to play with Yao (Ming) and Tracy (McGrady). The Spurs gave us permission to speak with him about three days ago, and we had a long conversation."

Can the Rockets bring him over?

If so, this is a great first step for a Rockets team that desperately needs more size on the front line. Joe Smith and Udonis Haslem continue to be the topic of discussion for Morey and the Rockets.

I take anything I hear on hoops world with a grain of salt, but I think it would still be great to pick up Haslem, especially if you can move Rafer for him.

I doubt we can get Joe Smith unless he signs for the LLE, since Scola is probably going to be signed with at least a significant portion of the MLE.

    Yao/Mutombo/Tsakalidis
    Scola/Hayes/Landry
    Battier/Wells/Novak
    McGrady/Head/Snyder
    James/Alston/Brooks

In my opinion I think this roster is set to start the season. I don't see any serious holes in the rotation as of now, except maybe we can add a veteran power forward to balance the youth and lack of experience at that position.
