Dude, I don’t mean to rain on your parade but I would smoke you and any other of you pathetic humans. Trust me on this one. I am otherworldly when it comes to slamming beer. Every time I start thinking that I am out of practice I surprise myself and all onlookers. I’ll line up next to a young buck while tailgating and he’s thinking, ‘I’ll grease this old geezer’ and I end up finishing part of his too because I grow tired of waiting for him to finish. I’m thirty but I drink like I am seventeen when I drink. Funnel? You are on. Shotgun? Anytime. Straight out of the can? No problem. 12, 16, or 24 ounces? Longneck? I’ll give you a head start. One of those silly hats with cup holders and straws? I’ll go beer on one side and Jack & Coke on the other in mine…you get water and water. CO2 loaded pressurized beer bong? Bring it on. I also think I have a gift when it comes to not needing or wanting sleep. It just gets in the way. Everybody brags about how much sleep they get or need. What I have learned over the years is that everybody is full of crap. I’ve known folks that swear they only need 4 hours of sleep each night. Then I talk to their wives and they sleep seven or eight hours most nights with an occasional 5 or 6 hour night and they b**** about it the next day. The most I ever sleep in one night is 6 hours. I usually get 4 or 5 hours per night. At least once a week I’ll get 2 or so and very often I won’t sleep at all. And I don’t whine about being tired or even feel fatigued. I haven’t napped since I was a child. Not once. I could work 2 jobs.
DT, Care to play sometime? You'll probably annihilate me, but I like playing people more skilled than me. It's the only way to get better.
Playing Trumpet (I am a professional, after all) Backgammon - I play for cash - it is a somewhat steady 3rd income. I 've got others that I am not inclined to share.
Man…I just read that and one would be inclined to think that I am an alcoholic insomniac. I am neither.
Not sure if I would beat Everyone - but I think I am pretty damn good at: Monopoly - most people don't like playing with me after we start. I change into Mr. Burns or Scrooge McDuck. I get obsessed. Always have been that way. I can remember being 8 or 9 and beating the snot out of adults. We would run out of hotels and 500$ bills. I can not remember the last time I lost. My wife refuses to play with me. I think even the computer hates me. Movie/Sports/History/General Trivia (I would at least finish in the Top 5 if this whole BBS squared off in a contest - maybe win). I need to get Trivial Pursuit, but my wife won't play me. Sim City - SNES Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball - SNES Civilization II Used to be pretty good at Scrabble. And my "talent" that towers above everyone else - drinking WAY too much at New Year's and passing out. This year was terrible, I didn't even make it to 9pm, missed the Rockets and New Years. 1 big sports bottle full of Jack/Coke, 4 shots Hot Damn 100 proof, 3/4 Smirnoff Ice(s) in less than 2hrs. Don't ask me what I was thinking. I was already tired and hadn't ate anything since that morning - bad combination... Prior years have involved "Calling some dinosaurs". This fit of binge drinking has happened 4 out of the 6 past New Years. I had controlled myself the last two years, but I obviously slipped up this year. I hardly ever drink during the year, maybe 1/2 beers a month and maybe a couple of margaritas once a month when we eat at a Mexican restaurant. My tolerance sucks. I can get a buzz off of one beer.
We need to all go sign up for an online trivia game and all play together. Like now. That would be so fun. We could do scrabble also. I love scrabble. I’d finish top 5 amongst my fellow posters.
Oh, I'm good at Scrabble too. What kind of scores do you get? I routinely get scores over 300 playing against my mother (a very good Scrabble player). I'll take you on any day.
I spent most of my college career getting really good at Missile Command. The other thing I could do better than most folks here is walk around in this kind of stuff:
Same here. I mean exactly the same. I, too, play my mother and she is gifted in the game. Let's do it.
We could play on games.com we would all have to set up a time and meet in a certain lobby then just set up a table and invite the certain players might be hard because people might join before we all could get on same table
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, I cannot stay on a skateboard, but can kick anyone's ass on the 1st or 2nd game.
I doubt I could do it any more, but man I could stomp anyone in sleep-deprivation a few years ago. I spent one summer at college taking classes and working . . . long story short, I slept for less than 30 minutes a day for over a month. Now I sleep 4 a night except on weekends, but I've lost the self-determination to stay awake that much.
Just read the scrabble posts -- man, we should get together and play a few games. I don't recall how I score, but I'm pretty solid at that game. My biggest thing is not that I'm the best word-smith, but I know how to play the board and get strategy going to stifle my opponents. I haven't played in well over a year, but I'd love to get a game sometime . . .
