i jus picked fillers etc so i can see the results of everyone elses thinking but i dont like any of those proposals u have, Id give up Scola and Brooks and thats it bcuz they would have thier replacement with Scola- how great hes been playin his stock should soar- and with AB's inflated numbers and the Morey influence he can convince the Rap's to make that happen, if that somehow doesnt work throw in JTaylor or some other decent filler, but no draft picks
You don't give up 2 starters for one, you are robbing Peter to pay Paul. If you must give up Scola, ok...but not Scola and another starter. That would be stupid. DD
I think at some point you still hurt your team.......we sort of did that to get McGrady...he was close to Lebron's level when we got him. How did that work out? I don't mind giving up Scola etc....and you know I love the Passion assassin......but to give up Scola and Brooks, to me would kill this team...it would be robbing Peter to pay Paul. Now, I would consider Scola + Battier or Trevor etc.....because we have good wings to replace them.....but we don't have another starting caliber PG on this team. DD
Dont think you can look at it like that. Depends on who fills up the other position you trade away. For example, if it's Scola + Brooks (+fillers / picks obviously) for Bosh, of course Scola and Brooks combined are better than Bosh alone, but are they better than Bosh + Lowry? Not even close. Bosh is a top 10 talent IMO and you do what it takes to get him here. I'll trust Morey to fill up the rest of the roster with cheap yet efficient role players again.
I hope the organization does gut the team for one player. I rather have the organization go with players plus Yao and see what that gets you to start off next season, if it does not work out then make a trade. This team deserves to play together longer and with addition of Yao.
I'd pay more for Stat. But since this is another Bosh forum, almost being busier than mcgrady forums, I'd say brooks, Ariza and Martin are untouchable oh and lowry too.
BIMA, well thought out! I agree. I think our best offer is Battier+Hill+Andersen+2010 Rockets 1st Rounder+ 2012 Knicks first rounder. From the Raptors standpoint they get Assets in Hill + 2 first round picks and a useful expiring in Battier. My guess is the Raptors would push to include Brooks in the deal. It would be interesting to see what happens in that scenario.
On the one hand, I'd give up any and all (cept Yao) for Bosh. He's a blue chip player and when that opportunity comes around to combo 2 blue chip players, you do it - and hope for the best. Plus whatever we lost, I'm confident Morey could find a good cheap role player filler. On the otherhand, Bosh would be coming in as a sign and trade.... max contract + Larry Bird (I assume)... thats a heckuva contract to pair with Yao's... That said... Giving up Scola is a nobrainer (30+, higher resigned contract against cap, same position as Bosh)... obviously the cnterpiece of the deal - no prob... AB - assuming we are confident in resigning Lowry... sure toss him in... Battier/Ariza/Martin.... fair market contracts....I'd rather give up one of these than AB... Battier is the only one I'd be willing to add without getting another potential starter back... Jordan Hill/ Chase/ draft picks.... I'd add 1 to a combo of Scola/AB or Scola/battier martin or ariza..... nothing if they want Scola/AB/Battier parts - they can add whatever they want of Hayes, Anderson, Armstrong, Taylor, whoever else I'm missing.... to even out the deal... To my mind, the key is what else we have to take back... Given Yaos and Boshs contracts we couldnt afford ANY dead weight taking up significant cap space... So as long as we're not gettin stuck with another contract... Scola/AB/(battier, hill, chase or a 1st rd)/filler.... is what I think is the best deal i'd give up... I'd especially love to throw Jared Jeffries contract into the deal...that'd be a bonus.
They have Calderon and J. Jack under contract for big money for the next few years. My feeling is they'll ask us to swap Brooks for Jack if we can find a 3rd team to match contracts.
Easily Bosh's value is at least AB+Scola... Plus NY 2012 + our 2011 2nd round pick. If you want to keep AB you will have to forget about Bosh and possibly go after Boozer.
What does Bosh do that makes him better than a combo of Scola/Hill at 10mill a year Bosh is not is good as kg when he was traded. He not even as good as him now Defensively.
