I keep reading all these exaggerated accounts of what the prison will be like where they go. Anyone have any realistic info on what the security/life will be like if they do make it to prison? I'm curious.

Only 1 problem with that. They would actually have to regret what they did.

Sadly, you're probably right. They'll both me mysteriously sick and he'll pardon them since they're close to death anyway.

You guys gotta do something. There's this guy Nasty Nate who's after my cocktail fruit, and everyone here likes fresh fish.

And then the Squirrel Master came out of left field and told me l'm his b****.

You are absolutely correct. They are both far from innocent, but no way the U.S. lets their scapegoats for a much broader ranging issue get away.

As for the original question, I'd do what those guys are gonna do....spend time with my family before going to the big house. Too much money held for bond to do that to your family. Gotta leave them with something besides the legacy.

Ken, have you ever spent time in a Turkish prison?

Ken, do you like movies about gladiators?

Ken, have you ever seen a grown man naked?

wait till they're separated from their families. when they can't enjoy their grandkids. when they can't enjoy a game of golf...or even a walk outside at night.

they'll regret it. it always catches up.

yes there is, spending the rest of your life in prison. get the hell outta the country! you can explain things to your kids over a bowl of gazpacho in madrid. :)

as Frasier Crane once said, "that's the beauty of civilization, you can buy anything!"

granted, you better get out on your first attempt b/c you won't get another one, but you gotta take the shot (you said lay is broke so maybe he doesn't actually have money but i'll assume he's got something somewhere, just borrow from skilling). i don't ever plan to commit such a crime, but if i'm ever going to prison for life and i've got 4 months to spend, i'm trying to escape. and i'm coming up with a good plan as i'll have about 3.9 months to come up with it. are they in houston now? if they're close to mexico, just make some sort of quick trip there, have a boat waiting at the river, then make your way to the gazpacho.

in that 3.9 months, i'd probably spend time with family, spend time making plans, and rack up the speeding tickets.

    As the song says, "you got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em;
know when to walk away, know when to run."

    I'm AWOL from U.S.,

then I would make it to Amsterdam and purchase a Coffee Shop and begin my new life...

    ahhh...

I might do that without having to go to jail...

Sorry but they ain't Jack Bauer. If Lay/Skilling were to get within miles of an airport/border crossing/marina, you can bet that US marshals would be all over it.

you guys are a bit too cynical in this case - ask Bernard Ebbers, Denny Koslowski, John Rigas, Sam Waksal, Martha Stewart - it ain't so easy to buy your way out of jail. Skilling & Lay are going away for a long time, the best they have is they can just hope for an appeal to spring them early but even that is a slim hope.
