We have no coach yet, no chance we get someone that is even a borderline star until we have a proven coach or someone well respected.

It's not going to be as much as we would have to pay Harden once he becomes a FA. Good that we have him locked up for 2 more years.

Conley is a max player, don't try it with anything less.

Makes me so sad that we could have had Lowry and Parsons....and still had cap space this summer.

FYI Lowry was traded for the protected first round pick of Toronto which we parlayed with Kevin Martin and fillers to get Harden, so we didn't fail to retain him we just traded him away for a superstar vs. just an all-star in Lowry.

Dragic we failed to retain and instead we went with Lin, unfortunately.

    Thanks for this fresh take.

Any thoughts on the Rudy Gay - Shane Battier trade that just occurred?

I thought that he was talking about when we talked to him again as a free agent? I've seen several posters talk about how we should have just "chosen to sign Lowry" instead of waiting on Carmelo. "Morey is obviously an idiot- he wanted to chase stars instead of getting a great complementary player like Lowry!"

That's not the way it worked. We had the first talk with Lowry. He talked with Toronto last. Then he chose to stay in Toronto. We couldn't have "locked up Lowry for 12 mil a year" if he didn't choose to come here.

A max, he's not going to sign for less. And he shouldn't.
