This could be the opening that Morey needs to solve some of his problems.
I would send Luther Head and Shanne Battier to Atlanta in exchange
I would want the #11 pick and Smith the Power Forward.
Smith would become our starting Power Forward, with the 11th pick I would select the best Guard with the best shooting ability, one who is athletic and not below 6'4".if it's a small forward at least 6'9"
I would use the rest of our fodder to obtain a starting Point Guard. :p

No back up point? Salim is a PG, Lucas is a PG, V-Span is a PG.....

Only problem is that you are just a couple million dollars off! Josh Smith barely makes more than Luther, and Battier makes 4 times what Josh Smith makes....you need some fillers.

Actually the Hawks are under the cap so it might work. However, I really doubt they want Battier as they are loaded at the SF and PF positions. Plus there is no way they are giving up Smith and the #11 for anything besides Mac or Ming. However, my proposal of Alston + Head + #26 for Smith works and is more likely since they might lose Smith to free agency after this year.

The hawk's players are too young. That team's horrible and we are not rebuilding...

Battier is a valuable asset and if you want to trade him you would need to get something more than the number 11th pick.

Why would we want a younger guy for Battier, when we traded Rudy Gay for him in the first place?

Wow with everyday that passes I realize how badly our team really sucks. But I still love em.. I guess its like when a parent realizes they have a dumb kid who sucks at everything he does, but they still love em.

To be fair at all with Atl it would have to be something like below. But it is Billy King, maybe we could get a slightly more favorable deal. (There next years 2nd or a useful player/prospect) or perhaps only having to take on Anthony Johnson instead of Claxton

    Atlanta Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Speedy Claxton
    5-11 PG from Hofstra
    5.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 4.4 apg in 25.1 minutes
    2007 Draft #11 Pick
    0-0 from
No games yet played in 2006/07
    Incoming
    Rafer Alston
    6-2 PG from Frenso State
    13.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 5.4 apg in 37.0 minutes
    Vassilis Spanoulis
    6-3 PG from Greece (Foreign)
    2.7 ppg, 0.7 rpg, 0.9 apg in 8.7 minutes
    Luther Head
    6-3 PG from Illinois
    10.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.4 apg in 27.6 minutes
Change in team outlook: +21.6 ppg, +5.3 rpg, and +4.3 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Sources: Sonics Offer Ridnour To Atlanta For 11th Pick
    June 26, 2007 - 8:20 pm
    Seattle PI -
The Sonics are eager to begin the restructuring of their roster and have offered the Atlanta Hawks point guard Luke Ridnour for the No. 11 pick in Thursday's NBA draft, according to three NBA sources.

The Hawks have long coveted Ridnour and he could be the point guard they have sought for years. Atlanta passed on New Orleans' Chris Paul and Utah's Deron Williams in the 2005 draft in favor of Bremerton's Marvin Williams.

Atlanta also has another deal on the table from a third team for a point guard and is mulling that offer. If the Hawks accept Seattle's offer, the Sonics would own two of the first 11 picks and four of the first 35 and almost certainly would deal the No. 31 and 35 picks for perhaps another first-rounder or future picks.

With the 11th pick, the Sonics could nab a point guard prospect such as Texas A&M's Acie Law, who worked out for the club earlier this month, or Georgia Tech's Javaris Crittenton, a freshman who would probably need a few years of seasoning before taking over the starting position.
