I think the tickets are too cost prohibitive for my budget but I would go if they were cheaper. Also, I am not into the teady bear.

All it would take is a ticket, a plane ticket that is, from spokane to Houston. I would be all over it then, so if anyone of you high rollers want to get me a ticket, I would be more than happy to go to a game. Heck I might give you the privilage of me staying at your house. As long as I have my own room and TV.:D

Seriously IF I lived in Houston, I would have season tickets, I dont need the finer things of life, such as electricity, and phone.

I would gladly attend every game if I lived in Houston.

I don't think it's fair to call out members of this site, and say that they should be out supporting the team. I am sure that everyone who spends time on this board would like nothing better than to attend every home game, if money and location were not issues.

The Rockets just need to start winning. Winning will bring the fairweather fans back.

Once the Rockets return from this road trip with a 10-6 record, I'm sure that the fans will be filing in.

Ridiculous prices. 3rd highest prices and the team isn't that GREAT! Les needs to use his little brain. Doesnt take a genius to realize this.

I work Tuesday nights & every other Saturday night and bowl on Thursday nights. Thats about the home schedule! I did make Hakeem's retirement though & that was special. Took me a week to get my voice back!!!:D

I will be going to a few more games this year though!

In the new arena there should be seats with audio jacks so you can pick up sports radio 610 and listen to Gene Peterson.

Maybe i just had a cheap walkman but I couldn't pick up any reception at the game.

    BIG FREAKIN AMEN Ref..

I go to as many as I can scrape money up for..but when you make less than 25k a year and you have mortage and kids and other bills associated with being a family man...the money and time to go to games are hard to come by..it doesnt make me any less a fan than the lucky guys like Vengeance or heypartner..

What would it take? well..a better job, hitting the lottery, or someone giving me season tickets..take your pick..
I dont really have any problems with the Rockets games or the environment of the Summit...When I do get to go, Im so happy just to be there..I dont complain about a damn thing...well, unless they lose ;)

Cheaper seats. Don't tell me about the $10 and $13 seats - those are sold out to the games I can attend. So right now I'm looking a 2 seats (can't afford to take the kids) up high in the lower level corner (more on the end than the side). Price? $250+. Easily a $300+ night for the 2 of us. Pass.

I live 50 miles out of Houston, I go to about 2 games /year and watch the rest on TV.

I am a big fan and I would go to more games if there were some specials during the season.

It is definately a financial matter to many die-hard fans who cannot afford more than a few games each year.

I have 4 sons and a wife and daughter who love the Rockets (I trained them well). I have never tried to take the whole family.

I usually take a couple of boys at the time.

    Ticket price + concessions= $$$$$$$

Tim, try to come up with some family plans...

Maybe a Father Son night with the child getting a 50% discount

I do not live in Houston so it would be easy to say if I lived there I would be a season ticket holder but the truth is even when I did live there I only attended about 5 games a year. I LOVE the Rockets but the price is a bit steep. I realize you can try and go on the "cheap" and buy your nosebleed ticket and not drink or eat, but when I go I like to make it an event, and get decent seats have a hot dog, a few beers and buy a souvineir which typically would cost by girlfriend and I about a hundred and twenty five bucks per game. Sorry to say but if your on a budget it`s much easier to recline in your favorite seat, pop open a $5 dollar six pack {compared to a $5.50 warm 12oz beer at the laptop} and use my own bathroom while watching the game at home. I think if it was more cost prohibitive people would see more games. I like the idea of package deals for families in which you get a set of tickets, food and parking all rolled into one low price............just my two cents

I bought one $80 ticket to the home opener, 2 games $13 (Seattle and SA) (2 seats) and the Steve Francis Playmaker package (6 games 2 seats) in the $10 seats.

Thats 80+52+120= $252 for 9 games (8 of which I'll enjoy with my 2.5 year old daughter) I'll get a handful of tickets from vendors through out the season so I'll probably make 1/4 of the games.

If attendence is poor I move to seats closer to the action at halftime, it's not hard to do.

I'm saving now for a half season next year, but I know it will be even more expensive when you have to pay to park in downtown. (add 5-10 bucks per game)

People if you want to go you can find a way, you don't have to shell out $3000 for season tickets to enjoy the Rockets games at the summit. The summit is so small the worst seat in the house is not that bad. If you are complaining about the cheap seats being sold out to the games you want to go to (lakers, wizzards) it's your own fault for waiting until now to get your tickets.

Sack up and get out to some games. :)

    Seriously,

Taking a family of four will usually cost the same as a month of groceries.

We went to a game and a Whataburger w/ double meat, fries, and a coke was $13.

I have no problem paying for the cheap seats, its just when I have time to go happens to be the same time everyone else wants to go, therefore the cheap seats are sold out. The only problem with going when there are cheap seats is that I have to drink at least one beer and have some food. Of course that one beer leads to a second then a third, next thing you know I buying rounds for my whole row and end of eating raman for a week.

Get rid of Norris. This would be a sign that management is commited to winning and not just to the players. They are custodians of a Houston tradition and owe us, the fans, a serious contender. The experiment started four years ago with THE BIG TRADE. We have regressed and Norris is the poster child for the cronyism on this team. The Rox need to show the fans they can right the wrongs, cut the mistakes and use the redundant and/or underachiving talent on this team to shore up the weaks spots and get this team finally on solid ground. There is currently alot of potential on this team. The time for potential is passed. If they do not have a solid nine players playing together and winning as a team at the end of the year then there is plenty of room for criticism of management.

If you want fannies in the seats start showing us something we can put our hopes on. Moving Norris is a big message to the fans saying, "Yeah, we made a mistake with this guy ( and others) and we hear you and we are going to fix it. Starting with getting a real NBA quality backup PG".

Then I'll go to some games.

A fan is a fan no matter who is on the team...at least most of us have financial reasons for not going...If you call yourself a fan, and you have the monetary means to go...and you dont go...you arent much of a fan after all...

I think it is as much about the economy as anything. If you are not part of the thousands of people in Houston that have been laid off in the past 1 1/2 years you are probably worried that you are going to be laid off in the future. I worked for 30 years never being out of work but have been involved in lay offs twice in the past year. I love the Rockets and I watch every game on TV but, the tickets are too much. Don't tell me about the $10 seats. I have sat in them and can't even tell if the ball went in the hoop or not. I'm not sitting up there and I can't afford $100 to take my wife and have a couple of beers in a decent seat.

I was a season ticket holder for the Oilers for 7 years and a working man could afford to go to games. Now, sports have priced out the working man. It's corporate entertainment now because all the atheletes make millions and you and I don't.

But, I still love the Rockets and hope to be able to watch every game on TV.

If you are saying that a fan must be blind, I could not disagree more!. If you are asking if I like this team. I am beginning to wonder. Maybe I do not. One year or so to get going in the right direction is understandable, even for the worst of franchises. To stand pat with as many question marks and for as long as the Rockets have is not fun and even Les has hinted that changes may come if the ship does not get righted this year.

As to whether I am a fan as in fanatic. My wife and friends would disagree with your definiton as no Rockets game goes missed in my house. Ever. Rockets are the major subject of discussion around my house , year round and I have in the past attended as many as 35 games a year. To have a $3-4K a year habit which is largely unrewarding and frustrating is not my idea of being a sports fan. It's sports martyrdom. I am developing better things to do with my time. Maybe you're right. But maybe not!

That's for the worst seats, man.

A co-worker had bought seats but then couldn't make it to the game. They were an upper level and they were $46 each. And Beer and food are optional, but I like to have something to eat and drink during the game.

And I do go to Houston sports games- Astros, Texans, and Rockets so why are you rolling your eyes at me?

If I had a car and money to afford tickets, I'd go to a lot of games.
