If I were still in Houston, I'd be buying season tickets to the Rockets. I couldn't afford them a few years ago, so I never bought them. Well, I could afford them, but I was still in save-so-you-can-retire-early mode.

If I ever move back to Houston, the first thing I'll do is buy season tickets. I really couldn't care less how bad they suck, how bad Moochie is, how bad of a player Steve Francis is this week, or how great of a boob Mobley is next week...

    Rockets, baby!

ron is correct -- I got a call from a guy with the Rockets who had my info from Ticketmaster and asked if I wanted to get season tickets. Kindof funny, he called when I was AT a game and he asked what the score was. I asked him "Shouldn't you know that?" :) Anyhow, I'd already been considering it and now I'm $360 poorer, but I have a seat for every game except the next lakers game (only seat available was $27).

i think tv is doing a good job keeping the fans at home.

but u will never feel the same excitement infront of the tv!

i already went to a game this season, and i'm planning on more!

come on Rox fans, let's give our team some support!

Good price on tickets and an easy way to get from Austin to Houston.

Well, until the team starts winning we will not get the bandwagon fans to
show up and fill the arena, so there's really nothing you can do right now.

Next year we'll have the new arena and that will bring curious, fair-weather
fans back for a while. But that will wear off if the Rockets don't win.

So, here's my suggestion. Speak your voice about cheaper ticket
prices or family packs. It seems to me that the most die-hard fans
are NOT rich! Middle class families should be able to go to the game for
cheap. So, keep at it. Write the Rockets ownership! Ticket prices
must come down when the Rockets are a sub .500.

Now, be aware that if Yao starts to help the team win, then prices
will go up. But, in the long run (next 20 years) it will help.

Next thing? Those of you that have kids...Start them early! Bring
them to the game! Tell them about the Rockets of old. Give them
a sense of history. Tell them why you love the Rockets! Give
    them some memories!

That's how you build die-hard fans! Start them young!

If my dad hadn't brought me to a game in 1976 I wouldn't be
    a die-hard fan today.

    It's in my blood!

This is why New York, Chicago and Boston have such a rich history.
The fathers brought their kids to the game at an early age. It's part of them.

At least we have something to tell are kids about (1994/95).

Okay I admit it, I was trying to get a little free pub, but seriously I think if they just called up all of houston with my machines and leave messages on thier answering machines telling them how they could personally be part of something big and how easy it is to get tickets... a few more people would show up and it's probably the most inexpensive way to market... You could even use stevie and Rudy's voice...

well most of the people on this website are either season ticket holders , or they go to as many games as possible, or they are hardcore fans that live far away(like me from VA) but we need to get to the ppl that dont go to the games, or get in on this website

Winning, solid defense, and fast break exciting basketball, motion offense and stop dribble, dribble, clank ... That will bring the fans back. Give something for the fans to cheer and get excited about.

When they move downtown I may go to a game or two. Like someone else mentioned, I've attended Rockets games since Calvin and Rudy were playing. The tickets now are too expensive. It used to be you could kick back and watch the game at home and let the downtown and galleria corporate crowd buy all the tickets, but since Enrongate they are not going into their pockets.

I think the Rockets are a better sports value than the Astros or the Texans. Between the Rox and the Comets, they have brought 6 or 7 championships to this city. The other has brought zilch, and probably never will - at least not for a looooooonng time.

We only have 1 vehicle in our household right now. I'm basically riding metro. I could get a vehicle if I wanted, and prolly will in the future, but I am in no hurry now.

I don't worship athletes, I worship the almighty God. After I pay tithes and offering at church, if there's something leftover, I'll scrap it together and buy a ticket or two - after they move downtown.

    cheaper than $10?

beer and food are optional... you can literally go to a game for ten dollars (parking included) and possibly get something free (on a giveaway night) and $10 is not "cheaper"???

    It boggles the mind.

I'll be attending my first Rockets game, in fact my first NBA game, on Dec 21. Unfortunately, it'll be in Minnesota, since that's only 750 miles from where I live. And it's the closest NBA city.:(

I would be a season ticket holder too...or atleast have tickets to as many games as i can afford if i was in houston.

I agree that they should not show so many games on tv. They are making up for loss of money from no fans at games by having their games on tv, but i believe instead of having every game on tv they should be using that money on advertising/trying to get more people to come to games.

That's eerily close to what I was going to put, Smeg...

We'll be there on Dec. 23rd, but BEFORE the wedding.

Not a bad idea at all Old Man Rock. I am almost positive that the Rockets don't do that.

I heard on ESPN that some franchise players in the NFL have been doing telemarketing messages and it being very successful. Michael Vick did it for the Falcons in Atlanta and it supposedly worked wonders.

Know what? I've been living "cheap" since I moved to Houston 9 years ago. This year I said the hell with it, "I'm gonna buy some tickets". Bought 2 Texans tickets/PSL... decent seats, bought a 12 game pack to the Rockets (I've got 3 boys).

    Price of PSL's (each) $900.
Price of each Texans tickets (10 games, I think): $59
    Parking (Blue lot): $15/game
    Nice seats, lower-level, corner-area.

Price of each Rox ticket: $69 (times 4 times 12).

Best deal for the $, easily the Texans. Much more exiting and better entertainment. Why? I dunno. Guess I like football more. I love the Rockets, but the bottom line is:

The tickets cost about twice as much as they should.

That said, parking's free (but Rockets concessions are maybe a bit higher - beer anyway).
