Banks isn't ready for prime time, but Damon is? Come on. Banks is challenged on offense, but Jones has some serious mental issues, can't guard the clothes he's wearing, and is flaky when it comes to the only thing he's decent at (3-balling).

James was a decent target for us because he'd split time between the 1 and 2. Jones and Banks are strictly 1s. Alston is a lot more capable than this board felt last year (he, like the rest of the cast, couldn't become a #1 option when we lost Yao and Tracy and looked bad trying). Our biggest holes are at the 2, 4, and 1 in that order. Battier can fill in at the 2 and 4 here and there, but not fulltime.

We need to use the TE, and probably split the MLE (3.5 and 1.6), IMO. God knows how we're going to plug the leaks.

    Evan|really down and discouraged

Im all for Bonzi...I think he gives us the third scoring option we need if one of the big two go down and he gives us good size and rebounding.

Splitting the MLE with jones and ariza wouldnt be bad either

I say we go after JR Smith....hes a young 2 guard, has the potential 2 becoming a great defender nd we know he can score....by the way for those dogging him while he was with the hornets...he had no one to look up to, one of his favorite players is T-Mac nd, being as a he would play a position that of which mac use to play he'll teach a lot to that kid

I think Rockets should try to aquire Trenton Hassell with the 4.2 TE. Minnesota now has Jaric, James, R. Davis, Foye, Hudson, McCants (although he is injured), and Hassell. I'm sure the T-Wolves would be willing to part with Hassell in order to gain some cap relief.

In the Free Agent market Rockets should make a run at Rasual Butler. He has a nice FG% and is very consistent from outside the arc. He has nice height, length, and can do a bit of everything-a nice player for the MLE. Other than him Rockets should try to get Ariza or Spanoulis.

yes he's a free agent, but I think he's only asking for around 3 million.

wow... he can fly for a little guy

I dont know too much about him though, how's his game and could we realistically get him w/ just TE's and MLE w/out Indiana matching.

Facts according to MR JM Williamson

    I'd love to talk facts.

    Quote

FACT: Mike James has been saying for months now that he would love to play for Houston again.
FACT: Mike James lives in Houston in the off-season.
FACT: Mike James has stated that what his wife wants is the most important thing to him.
FACT: There have been absolutely no reports of any offers larger than a 3 year MLE contract.
FACT: No matter how much money Cuban has, he cannot offer James anymore money than we can and his sign and trade offer of Marquis Daniels was refused.
FACT: Minnesota is a terrible organization nowhere near on par with either Dallas or Houston. Minnesota is far away from his home here in Houston.
(Minnesota isn't even a place I could talk my wife into visiting in the winter (much less moving to). Who in their right mind would take the same money they can make in their hometown to go to Minnesota? Especially considering Kevin Garnett is reportedly disgruntled and rumors abound that he could be gone before the trade deadline? I know you'll say they're going to offer a longer contract, but that isn't a fact. It's pure speculation at this point.)
FACT: The Rockets have offered Mike James the same deal that the Mavericks and Minnesota have reportedly offered AND are reportedly exploring sign and trade options with the Raptors

Jones is a backup SG on the Pacers bench. He can also play point.

In getting Daniels for Croshere, hopefully a 2nd round pick should be enough for a S&T.

    Alston, Fred Jones, JLIII
    [/b]Rasual Butler[/b], Sura, Head,
    McGrady, Bogans, Novak, Rybo
    Battier, JHo, Hayes
    Yao, Deke

I believe he was shipped to Chicago (to be sealed on the 12th). So according to the CBA, the earliest Chicago can move him is mid December (or is it after 60 days?).

Anyway Chicago is not trading him - and he is not the kind of 2-guard we need because of below par shooting %.

    Heres what I would do:

1.Corey Maggette for Juwon and Luther.
    2.Ariza for part of MLE
3.Melvin Ely for rest of MLE or for TE
    4.Sign JL3

Agreed. Every championship team has had atleast 1 very good perimeter defender, right now we have none. I like the idea of having Hassell, McGrady, Battier and Yao on the floor when we are looking to make defensive stops down the stretch. Lindsay Hunter would be another great addition to stop penetration and put pressure on the ball.

    Howard and Head for Maggette

Clips won't give up an athletic...proven... NBA player for a washed up shop lifter and a (future) career 8th man.

Two words on the Minnesota signing of Mike James: Rockets...screwed.

maggette is injury prone anyway. we shouldn't go after him at all unless we pulled some strings to get him in the cheapest way possible.
