Assuming that the ROCKS have the same personnel and barring any blockbuster trades/good pick in the draft then the following would constitute a successful off-season: 1. New ARENA approved 2. Name the ARENA: Hakeemdome 3. Hakeem to be completely healed 4. Hakeem to regain his fitness 5. Hakeem to tutor all the ROCKS on inside play 6. Cato to get a hookshot 7. Cato to get a 15 ft jumpshot 8. Cato to learn that being a footer (almost) means getting at least 10 rebounds a game 9. The ROCKS learning the art of no turnovers 10.The ROCKS learning the art of staying injury-free 11.Barkley to visit the ROCKS in the off-season regularly and personally bust anyone's butt who has gotten soft (fat) or unfocussed ($) 12.ROCKS to upgrade their threads b/c it is like a curse. When they were winning rings they had that simple design not this kiddie excuse of a uniform 13.ROCKS to heavily promote themselves as a serious up and coming team and get sell-outs 14.Clyde to come in and mentor Francis on the art of silence 15.No off-season injury/ies to anyone 16.The ROCKS learning the art of winning ball games are not huge deficits, furious rallies, 15 point leads, lost leads in the 4th...but rather to be always in control min afetr min ------------------ HAKEEM WAS THE DREAM FRANCIS IS THE CREAM
Actually, the name of the new arena should be: THE DREAM ARENA [This message has been edited by BobFinn* (edited April 17, 2000).]
thaCabbage: I agree that it would be nice to get a young small forward to groom for the starting position for the future. It would also be nice for this guy to be a shooter to complement Mobley and Francis' game. Lewis sounds like a good option. There are a few guys in the draft who might do that, but Darius Miles doesn't fit that description. I'd hope we can get Lewis, but I don't know how likely that would be. The Wiz is good. I'd like to trade him in the right deal, but not to just trade him. BTW, how do you write in bold on here? Ctrl + B doesn't work. ------------------
