i think it depends on his teammates, if tmac continues to be his teammate which he should be than 26 11 if not than 30 and 11

btw fourth option makes no sense since if it was his prime, than it would have to be more than that, since he's averaging more than that already

One day he will break kobes single game scoring record (not wilt's though), if they call half the fouls commited against him

35 points and 16 rebounds a game for a season? Has anyone in NBA history other than Wilt Chamberlain even come close to accomplishing this feat?

EDIT: Looks like Kareem came close in 1972, but that's about it.

    ...talk about completely unrealistic expectations.

Too bad we can't speculate on this for T-Mac because he never hit his prime.

I think 28 is realistic and good enough for me.

That's right, it's this kind of unrealistic expectations that sets Yao up to be called an underachiever when his career is done.

Yao will be in his prime when he stops jumping on defence when trying to block the driving PG... does this EVERY game... all he has to do is lift his arms... also he needs to work on his dominance. not in his play, but in his stature. whenever the whistle is blown, he draws his arms to his body and acts like- "what the hell did i do??"...

but other than that, YAO IS DA MAN!

If he can get these stats, after his retirement, Yao will protect us human beings, fight with the intruders, he will be elected as the general secretary of UN.

Based upon what? Olajuwon winning a championship in that age range?

IMHO, that's the exception and not the rule. Since the age of 28, Shaq has started to play fewer and fewer regular season games. Quick big men who know how to avoid contact may push the prime out a little. But big men who consistently need to rely on power over speed will drop off far quicker.

Being a true "big man" and playing year round has moved Yao's prime years forward substantially more than the average.

Actually the dream hit he's maximum best in he"s early 30's. shaq is a great exception. shaq was playing at an unbeliveble level from he's rookie season. he was great from the get-go. he really did'nt hit a great peak period of so to speak. one thing is pretty certian, after the age bracket of 35, most centers will start entering there twilights of there careers.

18 of our members are possibly NOT Rockets fans.
    Possibly their minds are deranged.
Possibly they haven'y been paying attention for several years.
Possibly they don't like Asians of the Oriental Race.
Possibly they don't like to accept the truth.
Possibly their Math isn't of a very high standard.

Possibly they are from Dallas!!!!!!! :p
    That sounds more like it!!!!

not joking, but if ROX is too good to the opponents, Yao may sit out in the 4q.
Unless JVG is too panaroid about the always-not-too-safe-20pt lead...

Something tells me you're not going to change your opinion in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. In which case, we are going to have to agree to disagree.

True low post big men are not in their prime much past 28. Shaq (and those below) are the rule and Dream is the exception IMO.

    Hakeem Olajuwon
    26 - 24.8 ppg
    27 - 24.3 ppg
    28 - 21.2 ppg
    29 - 21.6 ppg
    30 - 26.1 ppg
    31 - 27.3 ppg
    32 - 27.8 ppg
    33 - 26.9 ppg
    34 - 23.2 ppg
    35 - 16.4 ppg

    David Robinson
    26 - 25.6 ppg
    27 - 23.2 ppg
    28 - 23.4 ppg
    29 - 29.8 ppg
    30 - 27.6 ppg
    31 - 25.0 ppg
    32 - 17.7 ppg
    33 - 21.6 ppg
    34 - 15.8 ppg
    35 - 17.8 ppg

    Patrick Ewing
    26 - 20.2 ppg
    27 - 22.7 ppg
    28 - 28.6 ppg
    29 - 26.6 ppg
    30 - 24.0 ppg
    31 - 24.2 ppg
    32 - 24.5 ppg
    33 - 23.9 ppg
    34 - 22.5 ppg
    35 - 22.4 ppg

    Wilt Chamberlain
    26 - 50.4 ppg
    27 - 44.8 ppg
    28 - 36.9 ppg
    29 - 34.7 ppg
    30 - 33.5 ppg
    31 - 24.1 ppg
    32 - 24.3 ppg
    33 - 20.5 ppg
    34 - 27.3 ppg
    35 - 20.7 ppg

Except for Dream, every center listed and Shaq fell off after the age of 26. If you want to believe bigs are in their prime after 28, there's nothing more that I can say.

It is hard to determine how much bigger Yao's stats will get, without knowing what the organization will do to provide him with the good supporting cast. I believe he will be in the 28 and 13 average.
